Besides, Obsidian has enough on their plate right now.

Why would that happen? And you can't blame Obsidian for KOTOR2, that was LucasArts fault. Bastards wanted it out in time for the holiday season and rushed them, leaving the endgame horrible. Everything but the ending was great.
Truth. I liked KOTOR 2 a lot, the ending was the only bad part, they were originally going to put like 2 more planets in and a bunch more story and such.

No. They'll be too busy ****ing up Fallout New Vegas to **** up Mass Effect 3.
They're making Fallout New Vegas? Huh, I actually have some hope it might be somewhat like the originals now. I thought Bethesda was making it.

Yeah it probably won't be bad. I can't see it beating Fallout 3 though unless Bethesda is working on it though.

Uh, fantastic job completely missing the point of my post. I'll admit that Fallout 3 was fun, but it raped the Fallout name and defiled the ashes of the first two. It was a good game. It wasn't a Fallout game.

Obsidian's making it with the programming used for FO3...

The engine wasn't the problem, I'm not looking for an isometric late 90's system. I'm not an idiot, that would sell approximately 500 copies and make the company bankrupt. It was intended at Bethesda's style of game making.

Then again... would it be wrong to say that if I had the chance to choose between World Peace and an end to World Hunger vs Bioware making NWN3... that I would have absolutely no qualms about choosing the latter? >_> Then again, with the DA franchise taking off in such a similar vein, there's little hope of that.
As for Bethesda, I always found their sandbox worlds to feel very soulless, like there's something lacking. I would be playing and find myself thinking in various conversations as I go through the plot that there was just no life behind these characters. I played Morrowind, Oblivion and Fallout 3 for about 3-4 days each and then burned myself out on them completely as they become mindlessly repetitive in combat and hearing the same 5 voice actors with bland dialogue. Dragon Age, on the other hand, had me straining at the bit for five years in anticipation and held me captivated for a full month with just the first installment. ME2, about half that.
Obsidian's got talent in there, but I feel like they should try for their own original stuff and given plenty of time to get the job done right rather than being given/taking other game franchises leavings and pushing out sequels.
