Is Awakening part of the DA:O 2-year DLC plan?

I'm wondering how DA: Awakening fits into Bioware's DLC plan.  They stated that they had 2 years of content planned out, yet this expansion seems to break the continuity of that plan since all previous DLC is incompatible with it.

Are future DLC's going to be compatible with Awakening but not vanilla DA:O?  Or are there never going to be any DLC's that work with Awakening, and it will just stand alone?  It seems odd, especially with the level cap increase, that Awakening would be completely standalone.

I wondered this as well...if they don't make everything cross compatible, I would hope the future DLC would work with Awakening instead of the base DA:O, that way you could use the higher level character.

It's already been confirmed that future DLC will be compatible with both Awakening and Origins but they're pretty hush hush about it

Well that makes the decision not to carry over DLC loot even more stupid.

It sure is part of the 2 year DLC, as it is basically a very large DLC itself.

If that was the case, then your other DLC items should be imported in Awakening.
I want my damn Starfang ! Its my chars trademark and in Awakening it just vaporized in thin air ? bs...

I bet every expansion or DLC until DAO2 will be Stand-Alone.
This means that everytime we will going to lose the progress we may have done in that single adventure, and we wil have to begin every xpansion/DLC from DAO post campaign save. My speculations obviously...

It was one of the first topics to pop up when Awakening was officially announced and a dev posted in it saying that DLC would support both but they didn't want to go into details for possible spoiler reasons.

I'm afraid the topic is lost to the ages now though.

They have already said the level cap increase, new abilities and specializations works in Origins as well as Awakening.

So we could replay Origins with the higher level cap, new abilities and specializations and our old DLC.

I got the impression that Bioware's plan was to release DLC for DA:O A from this point on until DA 2. I also got the impression that each DLC, however, will only be compatible with said game/expansion.

Such as:
The DLC you purchased for DA:O will not work with DA:O A or DA 2.
The DLC you purchased for DA:O A will not work with DA:O or DA 2.
The DLC you purchased for both DA:O and DA:O A will not work with DA2.

Well if that is the post it doesn't help. I want to read that any/all skills/talents/whatever from DA:A is retro to DA:O from a developer.

He, sorry, that's the only thing I found...
I'd like to know as well ( even though I'd understand if they chose not to make the new talents/specs backwards compatible, still it'd be nice to have them available in Origins as well =) )

at this rate, there's no way they are gonna support this game for 2 years, especially considering the sequel is coming out in a year or so.

Another DA game isn't necessarily a sequel. If it's being released for handhelds as well it's probably an online version of the P&P game. Or it could be any other completely unrelated game.
