You all know the story, can't import my character from Mass Effect 1. I've looked online, and I see people saying to copy the save folder in ME1, and paste it in ME2.
Well.... I have no save folder! But.... I still hvae characters! I started up ME1 and loaded my end game character. All was well. But no save folder!
Any ideas on what to do?
Trying to import character... no "save" folder

What OS are you on? In XP it's in My Documents->BioWare->Mass Effect->Save.
I believe in win7 it's C:Users->(Username)->Documents->BioWare->Mass Effect->Save. Not sure for Vista.

I'm using XP. The folders in my Mass Effect folder are:
Binaries, BioGame, Data, DLC, docs, Engine, and then there's the MassEffectLauncher.

Sounds like you're looking in the Programs folder, where the game itself is installed. Look in My Documents, as I outlined in my first post.

Ok sorry. I found it. I copied the folder, and pasted it in the Mass Effect 2 folder.
Still nothing showing up when I go to import the character.
(btw, I can't run the configuration utility. I couldn't run it for Dragon Age either.)

Did you copy it into the Mass Effect 2 program folder or the Mass Effect 2 folder in 'My Documents?'

What happens when you try to run the Config utility? What kind of rror do you get?
That aside, make sure you're putting your ME1 save into:
My Documents->BioWare->Mass Effect 2->Save->ME1.
If there's no ME1 folder in your ME2 Save folder, just create one and drop your saves in there.

1) Go to:
\\My Documents\\BioWare\\Mass Effect\\Save\\
2) Copy the files with the really long names, for example "Char_01-60-2-1-0-29-1-2010-44-46.MassEffectSave"
3) Paste those files here:
\\My Documents\\BioWare\\Mass Effect 2\\Save\\ME1\\
Now you should be able to select your ME1 characters in ME2.

No problems. The process isn't exactly intuitive. Enjoy your game.

I located the Config Utility for ME2 and selected my save data for ME1, but when I launch the game there's STILL NO save data.
