In his loyalty mission I don't think I've ever developed a hate for a character so much(Kudos to Bioware writers, if I hate a character as if he was a real person, that's good writing there despite Zaeed being a little undeveloped...) when he suggested blowing up that place and killing Civilians. I wanted a Paragon Interupt.

"I'm tired of your noncombatant extirpating!" *FAALLCCOOON PUUUNCH!*

I also didn't like how he beat up that batarian. I also wanted a Paragon interupt there.

I DID punch Zaeed. I wish I could have repeated that several times throughout the game.

Best paragon move ever. Outside of shoving the volus on the Citadel around.

*raises hand* I wanted to (not sure if I did, I held a gun to his head at least) At that point I was hoping he'd actually take my advice and let us drop him off at the nearest spaceport.

Wait, when?  Did I miss something in the Loyalty mission?

Oh and it's nice to see I'm not the only one who hates him, I was actually thinking he'd be alot like Wrex, but knowing how honourable Wrex is I couldn't see him beating up people who can't defend themselves so as soon I saw that, I knew my paragon shep will hate him and me too...Maybe I'm too nice that I hate people who are cruel with a passion and lose my niceness with them. Zaeed isn't the only character I've ever hated that's cruel, but I only seem to hate them as if they were real when there not villians in the story but instead Allies or something.

He died on the suicide mission too because obviously...He wasn't loyal I was happy and satisifed.

EDIT: That's got to be like, the 50th spelling error I had to correct, something's wrong with me today...

Yeah, you must have missed something. I DID punch Zaeed, and browbeating him into saving the civilians was one of the most satisfying moments in the whole game.

Right at the start when he causes the explosion

That missions is sort of a moral quandary for me. How much of an effect would killing Santiago actually have on the organization? It seems like these merc companies all operate like cells, with Garm/Captain Enyala/Tarak in command of their own specific ones. You could justify leaving the workers by saying that killing Vido would destabilize the Blue Suns, but the loss of a refinery, and those workers, doesn't make it seem worth it.

I don't see why so many people hate Zaeed though. I would also be mad if my business partner (probably a close friend, too), tried to take control of the business (and make it less reputable in the process), turn my lieutenants against me, and then shoot me in the face.

That batarian you see when you first recruit him is sort of a weird thing though. Wonder who exactly he "pissed off" to deserve that.

EDIT: I love how he kills Vido. Also, the screams you hear if you leave the workers to die are horrific.

Because I'm likely not to get to that in like 10 minutes I just saw there is a paragon interupt on Youtube, I seemed to have completely missed that. Sorry, but I still hate him. Heck, I'm doing another Paragon playthrough just punch that guy. I also missed pushing the Volus because I didn't realize there was an interupt until it was too late.

Guess I am mean, I liked when he beat on the Batarian. I hate Batarians, I kill them whenever I get the chance. Oh and the refinery workers burned up.

I love Zaeed, my favorite character. I take him everywhere.

I like Zaeed, I find him to be a handy squadmate, and I like hearing the comments he gives throughout the entire game. But yeah, that paragon punch interrupt during his loyalty mission was satisfying as hell.

I hated him, but for the sake of getting his loyalty I let the workers burn. Had I known I could literally beat him into submission, I would have. I'll have to do another playthrough - but are you still able to gain his loyalty if you Paragon interrupt?

My favourite Zaeed scene was when he died in the suicide mission and now that I've discovered there is a Paragon interupt where you punch that guy, that is also my second favourite Zaeed scene.

I like the character, because I hate him. I respect the writers to make a decent enough character that I can hate with passion.

Considering Wrex's character, I just doubt it. Especially how his character seemed to have evolved into a more friendly personality in ME2.

you can still get his loyalty if u save the workers.

At the end u can basically make him beg, and will realize how blind his hate is, if you have a high enough paragon. Otherwise no he wont be loyal

Yes, I went full-on paragon for that mission and because my points were high enough, I could pass the check and blue optioned him into loyalty. Punching him is so very gratifying.

Essentially the moral question in Zaeed's mission comes down to; Are you Capt. Anderson or are you Saren? This situation is almost a carbon copy of what happened on Anderson's mission with Saren (as told in the Revelations novel/by Anderson himself in ME1).

Still what bothered me the most about the mission wasn't actually the moral dilemma of saving vs. leaving the workers it was the fact that Zaeed had withheld intel about the mission and nearly gotten us all killed with his little stunt; he lead us on this mission under false pretenses and expects me to just go with it. That turned me off of his character regardless of my Paragon/Renegade standing, you do NOT pull that kind of **** on my squad!

Having played ME1 with BDtS, I doubt I could care less about the Batarian he was communicating with. To further that, there is sooooo much you don't know at that point. What did the Batarian do? Who hired Zaaed to 'bring him in alive'? and Why? Who is the Batarian to begin with is a big one because he could just be trying to 'play' to your sympathy.

So much so that I would wager most of those who felt sorry for the Batarian and "wanted" to correct Zaaed ended up letting the Volus killer go in Illium.

If you missed the point where you DO punch Zaeed, you weren't paying much attention.
