Zaeed is my go to guy one of my favorite characters plus the cilivians were working for Santiago, and Santiago is a mass murderer better off to let them die and kill Santiago.Posted Image

I hate Batarians, I'd wipe them out if given the chance.

That said, Zaaed was too evil for my Evil play-through.

I didn't like his accent and his quips were annoying.

I was very upset when the option to leave him to burn was grayed out for me.

If you can't be evil enough to let some people die you really need to go back to Evil School. Take the new class on toturing babies, it should help some.

Zaeed's voice is one of the few good things about him.

If it's too evil to let some useless NPC's die, but you're perfectly fine with letting someone else burn to death, you really need to get your priorities straightened out! More dead people is always better than one dead person!

Don't like his accent? Too evil? WHAT?

Zaeed is not evil, he just had a serious need for revenge on the guy who messed up his life.  My Shep would have done the same.   Zaeed actually has a lot to say about things that are evil. Like take him to Pragia with Jack or to Krolus when you get Grunt. He's not some unfeeling monster.

Also to everyone complaining you can't have a convorsation with him and that makes him an inferior character. Why would you, hes not going to cry on your shoulder about his daddy issues, you already have his loyalty.  Geez just go talk to any of the other characters after you have thier loyalty, they are all like "I am too busy now come back later."  Zaeed will talk about the missions with you and tell you stories.

Plus squad disrupter ammo and inferno gernade, how can you not love him.

Exactly he's rough n' tough badass not a touchy feely cryer. Still wish they would give that a patch or something though because he's one of my favorite characters. Sure its cool that he has the war trophies and stories, but it does make him seem inferior. When he's NOT!

This. His in mission dialogue is the most unique and insightful out of all the characters. He's not an unfeeling monster, he's just been twisted by a need for revenge. If you take the Paragon path and do the Charm option at the very end, it's heavily implied he knows he ****ed up and that what he did was wrong, by putting his own need for revenge before not only his team, but those workers. When I do a Paragon playthrough and do this, I like to think I tell him that if we survive the mission through Omega 4, I will personally help him hunt Vido down. Vido IS a scumbag, and he WILL kill and torture and enslave others. Vido needs to eat a bullet.

Besides, not first time Paragon Shepard has done this ... I pulled the same thing in BDtS.

Vido is doomed, even if he is still alive he is now running from Zaeed and Shepard.

I DID punch Zaeed. I wish I could have repeated that several times throughout the game.

yeah I punched him to, then as he was trapped under the rubble I belive I had him at gun point :P

Same, but I gained his loyalty.. I guess through a combination of chasing his enemy out of there, standing up for what I believe in (gaining his respect), and opening his eyes as to what the right thing was to do and what's really important....

I think Zaeed is a good character, yes a bit under-developed like another said.... his loyalty mission was really good as were the paragon interrupts for it... right up there with the Renegade Interrupt when talking to the Shaman and having that other krogan talking smack for Grunt's loyalty mission... HEADBUTT followed by the Shaman taking a liking to you and laughing.

I, too, don't think Zaeed is evil. He was clearly blinded by rage at the refinery, but at other times, he's quite level-headed. Bring him to the Purgatory. At the sight of the prison guard torturing an inmate, Zaeed said (not verbatim), "No one goes away from torture unchanged. Neither the victim nor the abuser." He then said he personally did not think torture was worth it.

I also think his monologues are fine. He doesn't need your sympathy nor your listening ear, nor your shoulder to cry on. He doesn't need you to agree to anything he says. He just tells it the way he sees it and doesn't care about your response. There's simply nothing Shepard can say that would impress him or change him (other than that moment when Vido got away and he got trapped under the steel pillar). He is detached, not personally involved. Decades of being a mercenary has taught him not to be too attached to others in his company. Most of them don't survive their assignments.

So the lack of response from Shepard or any dialogue with him is not really a bad thing. I think it defines the relationship and makes him different from the others. He is clearly there for the money and has no wish to be personally involved with Shepard.

Well, the *is* an option to punch him. Very satisfying=) One of the best paragon interrupts in the game, in my humble opinion. And after that you can point a gun to his face while lecturing him about the value of teamwork. He learns)

Though I really wanted to have an option to interfere when Shep first meent him, beating that batarian. My paragon Shep simply would not stand and do nothing when a beaten person actually pleads him for help, batarian or no...Felt bad afterwards, and only used Zaeed on his loyalty mission(

I hated him, but for the sake of getting his loyalty I let the workers burn. Had I known I could literally beat him into submission, I would have. I'll have to do another playthrough - but are you still able to gain his loyalty if you Paragon interrupt?

yes, but at the end of the mission, if you choose the paragon path, you need HIGH AS HELL paragon to still get his loyalty. There's a paragon conversation option at the end of the mission that requires insanely high paragon to activate.... only way to get his loyalty for us paragons.

Strange. His loyalty mission was the first I've done, had no more than 50% of Paragon filled, possibly even less, and it still worked like a charm.
Lol, I didn't even knew it was possible to keep his loyalty if I save the workers, but done it anyway=) Did not think that his loyalty was worth it.

The guy spends 20 years tracking the guy who shot him and left him for dead, he joins your mission as long as you promise to help him kill the guy, and you let him get away.
You are the real jerk.

Actually, you do not promise him to kill Vido. You only promise to liberate the refinery - which you do.

Excellent loyalty mission by the way.  I would say we definitely got our money's worth on that DLC if, you know, it had cost us anything.

My paragon shep punched some sense into him during the refinery incident....yay for paragon interupts! I find I like all the characters for one reason or another. Just not in a shipping way. On my forth playthrough now and I still dont have the paramour achievement.

Agreed. And exellent atmosphere, some fun combat (flaming liquid from the containers, anyone?) and a sence of urgency without an actual timer ticking.

I personally liked Zaeed. He's pretty well balanced for any senario. He's got an assault rifle and a sniper, both he's good with. He's got disruptor ammo for geth, mech, and shields. His Inferno Grenade is glitched so that it always hits your target in the chest (opposed to us having to lob it).

Other than that, I love his stories, his accent, and his bad-assery. I also showed him the value of working as a team if you go full Paragon on his loyalty mission. Too bad he'll probably take off once ME3 comes out.
