So I just got BS2 (hehe... yeah) and so far I am finding it alright. The combat is pretty solid though it seems they have cheapened the melee aspect by giving your first weapon fuel ammo, which I am not enjoying at the moment. Apart from the dual-wielding it's pretty much the same.

The atmosphere still puts me on edge although it does feel like the same levels again. I think the city could have been more rusted and old because the only difference was the fact that there was coral growing on the walls.

The story? Yeah so far it's had a few... silly moments (I won't go into them) and I can't say I am really all that interested in the new villain but it still carries the Orwellian concept wonderfully. My one gripe is the fact that when you start the game, you aren't introduced into it and if I hadn't followed the viral advertising (theressomethinginthesea.com) then I wouldn't have felt all that welcomed into the city or it's inhabitants. They should have kept that for the game itself.

Overall I would recommend it if you are a Bioshock fan or just a shooter fan, because it is pretty fun.

I would love to hear some other opinions about it! =]

I rented the first Bioshock before and I definetely thought it was good...but not one of the better shooters I've played. I kinda thought it to be rather silly thought and for some reason I don't consider one of my favorites for that reason. I'm seems kinda unfair to judge it by just that...idk. I'd consider myself a humorous guy (:P) so I dont really know why I see this as a problem...but I do. Humor is just something I dont really look, or care for, in a shooter.

That being said, I will probably get it...eventually. Just not when the big'ole $60 price tag is hovering over it. I must ask though, how is it being the Big Daddies for a changes...???

You don't feel stronger, really. It's exactly the same. All the other Big Daddies are super tank but you aren't.

BS2 is good but BS1 is better imo seeing that rapture is overly familiar and lost its sense of mystery compared to the first game.

And i absolutely hated all endings for bioshock 2.

It's "Would you kindly?".

I accept your apology.

I realy liked the first Bioshock but i did not see why so many people made such a fuss about it, the story was good and had a few twists but hardly perfect. I might give this ago but it seems like it's mostly the same stuff.

If you played Bioshock, save your money. Bioshock 2 is just an expansion of the first, and you can tell how dated everything looks.

And yeah, for a Big Daddy you are insanely squishy. A leadhead splicer with just a pistol can take out 1/3 of your health easily.

when it came to big daddies, the ones with the rail guns had me running for dear life. the other ones that'd football charge me were no problem whatsoever. all i had to was find a good spot where they couldn't get to me, and fire away. anyway, the first one was okay for a couple plays. after getting the good and evil ending, i uninstalled the game. i don't feel inclined to check out the second.

Really? The plot in the first game was absolutely fantastic! As well as the voice acting, the visuals... I don't get why you can't be moved by it!

In regards to 2, I do think they should have changed the look of Rapture. I still felt scared but it looked the same! People should have been old and leaking slime and crawling around half dead...

They also should have implemented the diary entries differently this time. They wouldn't be hanging around there still.

i enjoyed the eye candy. i also liked the andrew ryan twist and beat down. i did kind of become a bit tense whenever i heard a big daddy moaning. especially once i realized it was a big daddy with a rail gun.

Lack of choice.  Even after this becomes the "ha ha" in-joke, things don't improve.

I didn't mind the lack of choice, I never had the impression you had that option in the beginning, so I didn't expect anything.

I thought the ending choice was enough.
