Honestly, whats with the big nostrils and loudmouthed, disreputable hand embracing. When I first heard the news that Jacob was black I thought it would be a revolution in gaming. Instead I get the same dissapointment I had with coal train in gears of war. When oh when will the day come that a video game will feature a logical, reserved super genius that happens to be a man of significant colour. It must be EA's influence because I honestly thought bioware was not of this same corruption it appears I was wrong. It's part of the reason people dont like Jacob too.

I must say in the context of video games I HATE BLACK PEOPLE

Anderson is black, and he's one of the most badass characters in the game. What more could you possibly want?

What? Jacob is cool the reason I don't use his or like him is because of his powers I don't find them that useful. I don't think Jacob is loudmouthed but Jack is, F*** OFF! lol

I was a bit disappointed with him as well. Miranda and Jacob should switch roles. He should be the commanding officer and she should be the soldier.

This exactly.  I guess he's not much of a presence in ME2, but he's a great character.  Not a super genius, exactly, but certainly logical and reseved.   Hope he has a bigger role in ME3.

Jacob actually surprised me as completely non-stereotypical and actually likable.....completely unlike Kaidan. Jacob is overall a good guy and quite intelligent too. Only near the end he starts leaning a bit into stereotype land but not too much so overall I think they did a very good job with him.

If there's one thing that's stereotypical about Jacob, it's that he's a stereotypical space marine hero archetype without too many flawed characteristics at all.

I didn't think about Jacob being black while playing the game, it mattered more to me that he was with Cerberus.

Big nostrils? I'm like this close to reporting that post, for nose discrimination.

I thought Jacob was great in ME2!

Though I was a bit disappointed that I didn't have the option of having him do a full freestyle gangstar rap as one of his dialog options under "Investigate".

I was also a little disappointed when I found out I couldn't get any 'recreational narcotics' from him at any point in the game, especially since the first thing he says to the player when we meet him after waking up is "Let me know when you want some of the 'good stuff'".

Oh well.

You have selective hearing. Jacob says "Let me know when you want me to hit them with the good stuff" referring to his biotic powers....he even demonstrates right after telling you by using "pull" on a droid.

As for the "freestyle gangstar rap"....you gotta talk to Mordin about that...ROFL

How silly. So you're saying all black guys are the same and all white guys are the same? Damn, stupid, everyone's different no matter what color.

Can Bioware make a not so bland male human companion that isn't so bland? (in a ME game)

Lol you know BioWare/EA didn't make him like that. They actually scan the guy and well... that's what he really looks like... Ever think of that? Lmao...

I support badass space Colin Powell. Not so much Jacob, he just rubs me the wrong way.

What is this in reference to?

Off topic, but was anyone bothered by Grunt's technicolor air-quoting or Thane's sanctimonious eye blinking?

LOL x2. And I wondered why two (or was it three) of my few convos with Jacob using my male Shep had to do with liquor. Just so...I don't know. Out of context.
