but those who are drafted and refuse without a waiver can be jailed.  That constitutes force to me.

Good point. I guess I would say that constitutes force to me too but really, It's one of those things that they will not go to your door to arrest you for. Also for the sake of this argument I did a little studying (no not a wiki) and it looks like the selective service is just for show now anyways. The last time anyone went to court over it was in the 80's and they stopped taking people to court because it was almost imposable to prove that the person in question was guilty. I think citizens who are not interested in fighting for their neighbors are pretty safe.

I think it's pretty safe to say that people of different lineage other than Caucasian were not forced to fight for the U.S. during WWI & WWII. I have never seen an interview or spoken to a man who fought in WWII (my grandfather included) who was not proud of his service.

How silly. So you're saying all black guys are the same and all white guys are the same? Damn, stupid, everyone's different no matter what color.

I think we agree more than we disagree, but remember that the draft hasn't been implimented since the seventies, so no arrests since the eighties doesn't mean much.

As for non Caucasians not being forced to serve, plenty were drafted and many were given very dangerous assignments like this one (two links to same event) here and here

I never saw anything about any arrests but the cases in the 80's were court cases where the people in question failed to register for the selective services.

Thank you for the links. Very interesting reads. I don't remember ever learning about this.
