I imagine the gap was so large because they were planning to have a ton more dlc to help fill that gap :(

Jeez, I wonder if I'll even be able to hit 60 after restarting at level 48.

I wonder if you actually do get bonuses in ME2 startup if you import a lvl 60 character.

I've only imported lvl 55/56s. I'm not really fond of playing through using one character, hence never done new-game+ with ME1.

Yes, you do get a bonus. You start at level 5 with a bonus of 50,000 of each mineral and, I believe 300,000 credits.

what kind of BS is this ? on my first playthru i ended at lvl 28 why? i have no idea i did every quest before final battle. So then i import and start to play again to find out i stopped getting lvls at 30. So are you saying to get to lvl 60 im going to have to play 3 whole games. Or am i getting screwed again because im having to get there with 3 games? The one im playing is pretty much useless

,i got to lvl 30 in about an hour. And what kind of BS is selling the same gear that i have already From when i imported. Otherwise you just pay the credits and get nothing in return , thats a great system bioware. I long for the days when they filled a game with content. And not use BS achievements to make a gammer play multiple times . Im actually forgoing achievements from here on out . they are useless. Maybe if they Offered like( 10 biopoints ) for them they would have meaning enough to get me to care about them. Hey bioware why not just make a 5 min game and have and achievment for when you finish the game for the 1000th time

I think maybe playing in insane from start to finish will get you to 60 the quickest.

But playing it twice might be required.

So is it possible yes or no?

How high do you generally need to be on a newgame+ to be able to get to 60 without using super exploity tactics? (Just playing regular and doing most of the quests and using the mako sometimes)

If you would have bothered reading the thread (though I can't exactly blame you in this case)... no, it's not. There simply isn't enough XP in the game, even with the DLCs and every non-cheating trick in the book to reach 60 in a single playthrough.

Ending at 46-50 will comfortably get you 60 a few missions before Ilos.

How the F*ck do you get to level 60 in one play through??

I played it on Insanity and only got to level 57-------AAAARRRRRR!!!!!

I don't think it possible on a Xbox 360 but I know you can on a pc

It's not possible on either system without using the pc console or an xp exploit on the 360.  The xp gains and dlc available on both are the same.  Getting to 57 in one play through says you got most of the available xp.

Even if ME2 took more time, Mass Effect 1 still feels like a longer game to me. It must be all the side quests, which makes it a lot easier to get to 60. On my second playthrough as a Soldier, I started off at 48.

So, I know I won't be able to get to Lv.60, but I am now at Lv. 54 w/ 11,000 XP until Lv.55.  If I download and beat Bring Down the Sky, Pinnacle Station, and then Ilos and the beginning of the game up to becoming a Spectre, will I reach Lv.59?

(Umm...I heard you instantly level up when you become a Spectre...that's true, right?  I'd like to use the Spectre Lv. Up on Lv. 59.)

If not, how far will I get?  I would rather not do another full playthrough on this profile if I can avoid it.  I want to start a female Shepard profile.

No you won't instantly level up when you become a Spectre. You just get a large chunk of XP. And if you're level 50+ that won't be enough to get you a level up.

There's absolutely NO WAY to get to level 60 in one playthrough unless you use the infinite XP-glitch on Therum with the mining laser, or the chests of plenty on Noveria/Peak 15 and Feros/Prothean Skyway.

You could get some additional XP by farming the Rocket Drones in BDtS or the geth Destroyers on the Citadel. But that still leaves you several 100000 XP short of level 60, unless you plan to spend a very long time with those infinite XP glitches, which will provide you only with a few hundred XP per glitch.

My advice would be to finish this playthrough as fast as possible and then begin a new one.

Okay. I'll pass on the DLC for a while, then. I'm only borrowing this game, which is why I was being cautious with buying the DLC, otherwise I would probably buy it anyway.

EDIT:  Umm, now in my second playthrough on this profile, I have a question.  Were the items Shepard had equipped supposed to be cloned?  Shepard had all of his Master X weapons equipped, and also has some copies in his inventory.  Is this supposed to happen?

Spartan - the equipped-item duplication is a known glitch. Most people only put 2 or 3 playthroughs into a single character, so it doesn't affect much.

@MOTpoetryION - There are only a small handful of achievements that require a second playthrough on the same character. Some require a second or third playthrough on a different character, but each class plays so differently that it's enjoyable.

What's wrong with them encouraging players to experience the full game and all of the possibilities? Shouldn't you get achievements for playing the -whole- game instead of half of it? Or would you prefer a game where you get all of the achievements in the first 5 minuets? Lame.

If you hit 30 and stopped you're playing me2 not me1.  The cap for your very first playthrough in me1 is 50,  this unlocks the level 60 cap.  For me2 the level cap is 30.
