I realize I can't change anyone's opinion, but I'm not trying to. I just need to get this off my chest.

So I finally finished my last run through ME1. I already beat ME2 with my paragon Shep and I wanted to go back to ME1 and do my renegade Shep a little differently in preparation for my ME2 playthrough, and also to get to level 60 because I only got to level 59 with my paragon Shep.

The reason I bring this up is because I see alot of people, or the vocal minority as some would call it, posting their dislike for ME2 and their love for ME1. So my question is this.....

Do people really believe any aspect of ME1 was/is better than ME2?

Do people really believe that? ME1 was a great game, right up until ME2 came out. Don't get me wrong there, but ME2 improves on everything ME1 did. I honestly can't understand where some of these individuals are coming from. The inventory system was broken in ME1, utter trash. It's not fun to sit there for 15 minutes just going through your inventory system turning everything into omni-gel.

The dialogue and interaction with your teammates are heads and shoulders above ME1. By the time I got to Virmire, the only teammate who had any new dialogue was my LI. Garrus, Wrex, Tali, and Kaiden all keep saying the same thing.

Combat system, while I had no particular issue with the 1st, is better in ME2. Now I can't just run around taking an ungodly amount of damage, I actually have to take cover.

Customization actually has a purpose now. 95% of the crap in ME1 that I had to equip I didn't need. ME2 lets you switch out different parts of your armor, each piece with a specific benefit. The upgrade system lets you make your team more dangerous, and actually is important because if you don't upgrade your weapons your screwed in the later stages of the game.

I could go on and on, but before I get done I want to make one thing clear: ME2 is NOT a perfect game. There are issues and Bioware does have room for improvement, specifically the inventory system. But by no means is ME1 better in any aspect when compared to ME2, IMO.

I feel the same way. I only had one character to import to mass effect 2, because I seriously doubted that I would want to play it more than once. I was wrong however and was stuck with either using the default Shepard or playing through ME1 again, to get a character to play. I chose the default Shepard. I cannot bring myself to suffer through ME1, when ME2 is so much better.
