For me, there are a few i can't tell or should'nt tell. But I jog at night and i was just happening to listen to a song that would fit into a horror movie. So the song makes me on edge as if something bad was going to come out of the night, but what happened before the track was through these two jerks on bicycles came up on either side of me and screamed as they went by. Obviously i was'nt expectiing for that, pretty creepy.
So tell you story.

A few weeks later I got a call from some of his friends. To this day, I have no idea how they got my number. I had never seen the guy before or any of his friends. Anyways, they called and tried to threaten me not to testify. I handed the phone to my mother's then-boyfriend who told them to stick it where the sun don't shine. When I got home the day after, my door was kicked in and everything inside was torn apart or stolen.
The next day I read in the paper that a guy matching his description had been arrested for the second time in 3 weeks. This time for beating up a 12 year-old kid and a 58 year-old man. The kid had "looked at his dog funny" and as a consequence he started kicking a hitting him. The 58 year-old tried to stop him, but got kicked as well.
When the case finally got to court, he was sentenced to 2 years. He's out now, to my knowledge. And, if he hasn't moved, he lives on the other side of the street...

Well i had to persuade someone to not commit suicide, the thing was this guy was a total wierdo, one of my old friends was being stalked by him who was obsessed with her, she told me about him everyday saying he would try to meet her at school when she was finishing or try to knock on her house at 1am in the morning. He sent her pictures and vids of him cutting his arms, really creepy stuff.
Then one day he made an ultimatum saying that if she wouldn't give him a chance to be her boyfriend he would throw himself infront of a train. I had a chat with him that night and told him he needed to lay off her because he was scaring her, i tried to be friendly about it but he just went hysterical and left.
Next day there was a story on the news saying there was a dead body found at the nearby train station. I couldn't sleep for days thinking i pushed him over the limit... However my friend told me he didn't kill himself and he just went home, i still don't know if thats the truth though.

One night we went out to play the game but before we got down to the street there was something over the hills a mile or two away. It was a triangular shaped aircraft with lights at the three corners and a ball of light in the center. It was shooting beams of multi-colored light down into the forest that covered the hills. The craft made just a slight rumbling noise that we could hear from our distance. It slowly hovered over the mountains and moved across the forest beaming lights like it was looking for something. I cowered in fear behind a tree and watched it. My friend ran out into the street screaming, "Take me with you!" But nothing happened . The craft eventually made its way over the hill and out of sight.
That's my story of seeing a UFO. It should be noted that the town I grew up in was next to the largest air force base in the pacific northwest, so in all likelihood it was some experimental or unknown military plane. It's still a UFO to me!

I was at a bar one night and some psycho palced an ashtray on my shoulder and said I should keep it there. I just took it off and placed it on a table. When asked if I wanted to press charges, I said yes. Big mistake.

He only got two years for three (or more) cases of assault in a three week period? What about the breaking and entering? The threats?

No evidence. The phone call was made from a disposable phone and even though the police managed to track the owner down, they claimed that it was out of their possession at the time of the call and the police left it at that. Neither the phone call nor the break-in was brought up in court.Godak wrote...

Anyway, after yläaste I went to lukio (I think it's equivalent of high school) and he went on his own way. But few years later, something snapped in his mind, he brutally murdered two older men and beat one elderly woman to hospital. The mens we're their late 50's.
He got sentenced to jail, but I was stunned by the amount of time he got. He got only 14 years in prison, but because he was a "first timer", he will sit behind bars only half of it. Is that justice?
Edit. Typos....

Before anyone calls me stupid, its a human right to defend your life and the life's of your family, and this sounds very dangerous to me. A gang of crazy people including at least one ex-inmate threatening me and my family screams for drastic safety measures.
Buy a shotgun, learn how to operate and shoot it, keep it in the closet. So you have a chance to defend yourself in the case they think they can have some fun with you in your home. Unarmed and against two or more intruders you are screwed.
You don't even have to use a gun, if they know that you are armed, gives them something to think about.

I'm in Denmark and our weapon laws are strict. To my knowledge there are 2 legal ways to have guns in your house. One is recreational, e.i. hunting or sports. The other is if you're in our version of the National Guard. Since I'm neither, it would be a) illegal for me to have a gun in the house and 2) extremely difficult to obtain it.
Over here, guns are pretty much a rarity. I can pretty much count on one hand how many times there has been a shooting incident in the city I live in (population 31,682)... In my lifetime.
So while I appreciate the advice, I'm afraid it's not an option. But I do have a baseball bat at the door...

Its the same over here in the UK except guns aint that rare over here just ilegal, you can get a gun easy in the Uk but i wouldnt want to! lol, you would have to deal with dangerous people to get them and it is illegal. I collect samurai swords though, usefull incase someone try's to break into my flat, burglary is very high in my area.

Nope, but it sounds like our Canadian "justice" I read about all too often. If you're not getting double-time served for pre-trial/sentencing custody, then it's only getting a manslaughter conviction for brutally beating somebody to death... at least they're supposedly trying to get rid of double-time served (if they haven't already)... I mean... let's have the right to a speedy trial and better jail conditions, but it gets ridiculous after a while.KneeTheCap wrote...

Since this went in the direction of guns, I'll go with a tale about that. Back in 1995 or so, I was walking home from my first job in the rain. I left work earlier than usual because there was an inspection that day and I was only there to help tidy up. Well, when I was right across the street from home, in front of a baptist church no less, this guy came up to me with his jacket sleeve pulled over his hand. He tugged it back a bit and revealed he was holding a handgun. I was pretty nervous for obvious reasons. Not only could he shoot me, but someone from my house may see me in trouble and get shot trying to intervene.
Then it got weird. The mugger, of all things, asked for my *umbrella*. Not money or jewelry. My *umbrella*. O_o I guess he really hated getting wet. I gave it to him, and he walked away never to be seen again. It was simultaneously one of the scariest and silliest moments of my life.

No, not even close. Austria.
I am sorry for your laws, here in my country its still pretty easy to buy a gun for self defense and thats good since we have an incredible amount of ''hot'' burglary going on here lately.
Cases of heavily injured and/or beaten to death people by burglars is weekly on the news. The police is always too late.
For that case I keep my double barrel shotgun loaded with 00 buckshot read to go. I dont think any burglar would still engange me facing down two muzzles so big you can stick your thumb into them.
But there are several other non-gun weapons for self defense for your own 4 walls. Baseball bat is nice if you are strong enough to wield it effectively. Its all about having more range than your attacker. A samurai sword is also pretty nice, its lightweight, easy to wield and cut limbs off, like we have seen on the news not too long ago. Taser is also pretty effective but sometimes hard to get and you cannot practice with it. If you miss, thats it.
My personal meele defense weapon is my machete, about 60 centimeters long, something like a cross-breed of a short sword/scimitar/falchion.
I can cut through a 6cm thick wood with one blow. Its short enough to be wielded in close quarters but still offers effective range.
Sounds nice, but if the attacker is armed with a pistol you are pretty much screwed.

For creepy, I am going to go with my grandfather snapping after a stroke when I was a kid. I barricaded myself and my younger siblings in a back room while my parents tried to talk him into giving up the shotgun he wanted to use on us. This was creepy rather than just scary because prior to the stroke my grandfather was a nice person. His personality completely changed after his return from the hospital and its was unnerving on several levels.
