If you read the codex entry about indoctrination I think there is a good chance that at least one if not all of the council members have slowly been indoctrinated. Just read the part that is really foreshadowing in the codex entry that say something like "The devastation of one high ranking official being indoctrinated would be disastrous" or something like that. I hope it doesnt come to that, because I just want to rub it into the face of the Turian because he was STUPID not indoctrinated.

Never thought about it like this before, but... yes. This should be a dialogue option in ME3. Take that council!

You know, you'd NEVER convince anyone else that the Council was Indoctrinated, given the whole way the Council's treating the Reaper threat.  Hell, point out the map of the Presidium looks like "Saren's Flagship" and you'd be laughed off the Citadel.

I'm really starting to think Cerberus is right, and that the Council wants humanity dead because they're upsetting the Citadel's so-called status quo and stability by being... y'know, not completely complacent and believing that the universe is static.  The Eternity's bartender was one of the few people apparently on Thessia pointing out that they can't go ONE asari lifetime without a major war, so maybe things aren't as stable as the asari want to believe they are.

Yeah its definitely a possibility. it would definitely be an interesting twist if one or more of the council members were indoctrinated, or even just trying to get rid of humans. Although Im not so sure about the latter, as it would probably be at worst that they think the abduction of colonists was convenient, more than them actually trying to kill us off.

Turian Chancellor: Shepard! The Reapers are attacking the Citadel! We need your help!

Shepard: Ah, yes. "Citadel". The massive, indestructible spacestation allegedly located in the Serpent nebula. I have dissmissed that claim.

or

Shepard:
Ah, yes. "Help". The dialogue option that allegedly rewards paragon
points, unlocking more paragon options. I have dissmissed that claim.

or

Shepard: Ah, yes. "Shepard". The first human spectre. An indestructible juggernaut allegedly returned from the dead. I have dissmissed that claim.

or

Shepard: Ah, yes. "Reapers". The immortal race of sentient starships allegedly about to whopp your ass. I have dissmissed that claim.

There is just too many good ways of making fun of that Turian. Don't pass up on the chance BioWare!

There is no doubt in my mind that this is by far the best thread on these boards.

Someone posted this in another thread:

(Harbinger to the other reapers, with tentacle thingies doing air quotes:) "Ah yes, 'The Council'. An alliance of supposedly competent races, a threat to our plans, living in the Citedal. We have dismissed that claim."

I have no words to describe how badly I want to be able to use the 'Ah yes' in a sentence.

So I'm scrolling through the forums looking for a screenshot of a full squad roster (btw if anyone has one can the PM it to me? Thanks) and I have to say this title made me laugh out loud. So, thanks for that TC. Let this be my official support for this dialogue choice to appear in ME3!

Can we get a nifty image for our sigs of this?

Personally I would probably still go and save the Citadel - my paragon Shepard just rolls like that, but I would love a conversation along the lines of:

Turian Councilor: Shepard we need your help - Reapers are attacking the Citadel.

Shepard: *air quotes* Ah yes, Reapers......we have dismissed that claim.

Turian Councilor: Shepard this is no time for mockery...

Shepard: Listen to me you incompetent ****** (insert insulting phrase here) I better not hear one more word out of your mouth or I'll let the Citadel and the Council get completely destroyed. You got it.

Turian Councilor: Shepard, how dare...

Shepard: This isn't an argument - either you shut up or I leave you to die. Now tell me YOU...GOT...IT.

Turian Councilor: I got it.

Shepard turn to the Asari Councilor: Now what can I do for you oh gorgeous Asari goddess?

Asari Councilor: Why Shepard.....

This dialogue would make my day. :)

This is how I envisage the scene playing out, Just as the reaper armada enters citadel space...

Counsellor Anderson: Sheperd! I'm glad you're here...You've got to hold off the invading fleet, While we get to the relay!

Sheperd: You've got to be joking!! Just how Am I supposed to hold off thousands of warships, All of which are thousands of years more advanced than the Normandy, All of which are hundreds of times bigger, With nothing more than a half-crewed frigate and my team of 11?

Counsellor Anderson: Don't ask me...The council took a vote as to wether or not we should ask you for your help...I told them to go to hell...After all the brow-beating they've given you over the years, Why would he help us? I said...Udina tried to get involved of course, But I finally had enough of his political bull and shot him in the knee, Shortly after firing him.

Sheperd: I'll save the council's ass, YET AGAIN...On ONE condition: They agree to a face-to-face meeting with me and me alone - No great assembly, No council chambers or any political nonsense. I want them to ask me, personally, to help.

Counsellor Anderson: I'll make the call.

*Fade to black* *Fade in on the briefing room of the Normandy*

Sheperd: Gentlemen...and, Asari...I trust we all know why we're here.

Turian Counsellor: Commander Sheperd. It is your duty and obligation, As a spectre, To aide the council and give your life to ensure it's protection from harm.

Sheperd: I'm sorry...Protection? Protection from what, Exactly?

Turian Counsellor: This is NO time for your childish games!

Sheperd: Follow me, If you will...

*Leads them to the cockpit and points out the reaper armada*

Sheperd: Is THAT what you want me to protect you from?

Turian Counsellor: YES...You HAVE to stop the reaper fleet!

Sheperd: Ahh yes..."Reapers"...*Turns away from the cockpit and goes to sit in a chair and fakes a look of serious thinking* ...A race of sentient machines, Responsible for the construction of the Mass Relays and the Citadel, Waiting in dark space.

My crew and I have dismissed that claim.

Now if you will kindly show yourselves out the airlock, My crew and I are about to go on long-service leave...We're going back to sunny Virmire, To wait out this little war.

Goodbye, Counsellors.
