(Shepard, on the Normandy, patches through the council over holo)
Turian Councilor: The entire reaper fleet is heading our way! You need to get us out-- now.
Shepard:Ah yes, "Reapers", a race of sentient machines, allegedly waiting in darkspace. We've dismissed that claim.
(Shepard disconnects, and the chamber is silent for a moment)
Asari Councilor- Maybe we should-
(The turian councilor hardens his expression)
Turian Councilor: Our judgements must be made on facts and evidence! Not reckless speculations and wild imaginings!
Salarian Councilor: B-but, just a second ago you were...
(The salarian's speech becomes more erratic as outside the window of the council chambers offers a clear view of the reapers descending on the citadel, the citadel fleet helpless against the dreadnaughts. The window shatters as a reapers approaches)
Turian Councilor: (Turns to other councilors, giving a smug nod of reassurance more to himself than anyone) Must be those new ships C-sec was telling us about. I think they're a bit over the top though.
(The turian councilor looks back again at his fellow councilors, only to find they are running down the stairs. He smiles to himself and looks up at the descending reaper)
Turian Councilor: Did Shepard put you up to this?
(The turian councilor, still utterly convinced the reapers are not real, tries to tackle the "reaper" but goes uncouncious upon impact)
PRESIDIUM: AFTERMATH OF REAPER INVASION
Shepard: I think someone owes me an apology
(The turian councilor, holding his head in shame, sneers at the commander)
Turian Councilor: You have just destroyed all the reapers in the galaxy. Tell me commander: Do you take pleasure in commiting genocide?
Will he ever be satisfied?
