I am rather mad. I know alot of other people on this forum are too, we are mad about awakening.

Some are mad about the DLC items, the no romances, and even Ogrehn being in awakening.

But this forum is not about these issues, I personaly am fine with them. I am mad about the Ultimate scarifice.

Now please dont say, "Stop whinning about it, if you want him/her dead dont do it!!!" well thats not the issue.

The issue is us not getting the same amount of work. Really all i wanted was my choices to go over when i imported my dead character.

But be hopeful, because when we pick the orlesian origin we might have an option to pick what happend. But if they give the orlesian a canon reasons and choices, i will be very upset.

So lets get to the main point, I want you to sign this forum if you are upset over how they handled the US, thank you.

We are still not sure how they will handle it. I would much rather sign for an explanation.

Gotta agree with Velvet and knight. We don't know how it is being handled. People are reading way too much into the FAQ on this one.

Wait for clarification before you go burning Bioware HQ down. Chill, Winston.

Besides, if Bioware have made the unfortunate decision of making the ultimate sacrifice ending a permanent end to your characters world then there's nothing we can do about it. They aren't going to redesign a whole expansion pack in the 12 days they have between now and when Awakening goes gold. What's done is done.

If a player wants to, they can import their "Dead Warden" into Awakening and play as them. For the story it's assumed that they didn't make the ultimate sacrifice, instead somehow survived. A player would start as the same level with the same gear as their "Dead Warden". Essentially, if a player doesn't have a problem hand-waiving the story in this regard - neither do we.

What do you mean we dont know what they are doing? they just told us.

What we dont know is how the orlesian will be handled, and thats why i made this forum. to show Bioware we are upset right now, and if people sign they might make a statemnt telling us to have faith in them and us US people were not kicked to the curb.

Sigh.....

We KNOW that we will be given three options on how to play Awakening...

1. Use existing character (that survived DAO)
2. Use the new Olesian Grey Warden
3. Use your dead character if you dont care about the story.

We DON'T KNOW whether you dead characters decisions are carried over into Awakening if you play as the Orlesian GW, the FAQ doesn't mention it in any way.......we know we have been told officially repeatedly that they will and we have never been told that they will not.....

Why exactly should I be mad about the US?

I've two characters who did the ritual, one who died and one where alistar died so I'm pretty much covered either way.

I am still confused on what is complaint is; And, what 'US' is. Though for the record, I am excited too. I think that some might be happier if they found a new hobby until the expansion is released.

US = Ultimate Sacrifice.....either you or Alistar become ex-wardens, cease to be, join the choir invisible etc......because  you or alistar wont play hide the salami with Morrigan in a Dark Ritual pre-battle with the Archdaemon.

The reason for the complaint is the possibility that you dead character's actions in the DOA wont be carried over into the Orlesian GW's game.

Thats what i said above, this topic is to show people are upset and we would like to know if the orlesian has canon choices attached to him or not.

If you dont care about the US then there is not point to comment

I am definitely not going to buy Awakening if decisions of my dead warden are not carried over into it.

How can you be upset if you dont know that there is a problem?

I'd like to be sure my actions are carried over from my US character, but aside from some people on the forum saying that they wont be I've nothing to base any anger on.

As I've made obvious in my other thread, this fix is a priority for me, too.

Actually, it's getting the exact same amount of work as the other endings.

Dark Ritual: Import save and play as the same PC
Warden-Commander: Import save and play as the same PC
Ultimate Sacrifice: Import save and play as the same PC.

The issue is that BioWare didn't want to put in a 'Import save and play as the Orlesian Warden' alternative path.

It sure looks like its going that way, thats why we are upset.

Now am i tearing my eyes out in anger? no. am i crying? maybe a little. but this forum is just saying we dont like being out in the dark like this.

Well since the only indication of any problem is some people on the forum saying it may happen.....with nothing on the FAQ to back this belief up and so far no official word either way from bioware, I'm not going to lose any sleep over a internet rumour.

The Orlesian GW is obviously meant to fill the role of the MC if you choose to sacrifice your character, so until anybody with any actual facts tells us different why believe a rumour that our US actions will not be incorporated into the game.....if they are I'll be unhappy, but I'll just play the other characters stories in Awakening.  Which is a shame, since my favorite character sacrificed herself.....but i'l wait until there are some facts to back the rumors up before I start worrying about it.

there is no point about demanding answers either. why would they tell us that? i didn't even expect that FAQ, they've already said too much. wait until it's released and you'll learn from others wether your fears are founded or not.

To be honest, I'm kinda surprised that BioWare hasn't expanded on the matter in FAQ during these last few days or at least that some devs haven't posted a reasoning or two, given the community's outburst on the matter. It just seems like a cheap and nonsensical cop-out.

They probably want people to get up in arms then feel stupid when they actually explained it.

I said this in another thread- It's probably technically impossible to import the DEAD WARDEN then play as another WARDEN. Therefore- the easy answer is:

There will be conversation options that pop up at the beginning of Awakenings that you can choose (with your new Warden) that can reflect the choices you made in Origins. For example:

Little Kid: So what happened to the Warden? (Lets pretend this is a story being told)
A. He died.
B. She died.
C. She lived, and went on to rule with Alistair
D. He lived, and went on to rule with Anora.

Etc, etc.

Just because you cannot import your dead warden doesn't mean they haven't figured out a way to input your old decisions into the game. Until more information comes out- I still won't understand why people are freaking out. There is absolutely no reason they would make a choice like that then kill it off in the expansion.
