What can I tell you?  I never liked Liara.  She is too naive in ME1 and irrationally sadistic in ME2.  It makes me think that the whole 'I am sweet but innocent' routine was a facade, nothing more.  I don't even bother helping her out in ME2 because I am not going to help out a woman who wants to flay someone alive.  And honestly, the 'have you ever seen an Asari Commando unit before?  Few humans have' line wore thin when Benezia said it.  Liara saying it just sounds derivative and hollow.

I'm too jazzed about how awesome it is that MARTIN SHEEN is in the game to objectively evaluated his VA as TiM.



Claudia Black, Simon Templeman, and Steve Blum are always welcome, though ME2 isn't their best work.



Evaluating either Shepard is tough, because they have SO MANY lines and it can be so many different things. Meer is improved from ME1 mostly IMO. It's inevitable, though, that you're going to end up with a few lines that are terrible. ("Oh, I'm definitely interested!")

This. I'm a huge Claudia Black fan (loved her in Farscape and especially Stargate), but she was much better as Morrigan than Xen.

Is it just me, or did she also play that Asari that was friends with the rachni queen? It sounded just like her with a not so great American accent.

I generally like everyone apart from the male shepard's voice and Navigator Pressley's first line. Not to say everyone else was awesome, but those two are the ones that stood out to me. Especially the male Shepard's voice. I've never seen so many potentially awesome lines butchered. The main reason my main Shepard is female derives partly from her seeming to actually be doing her homework and putting the effort in, whereas the male seems far too much like the actor was just reading the lines off a list in order to just get them all over and done with. Someone earlier mentioned he sounded lifeless, and I'd say that's an understatement.



My favourite is Tali by far, purely because of the accent. Most of the voice actors do an exemplary job, to be honest. I even still liked Grunt after I realised he was Garin Garinson mid-sentence (which almost completely made him hilarious and ruined the character for me).

Like: Pretty much everyone. Most of the major characters have great voice actors, but even the minor characters have good performances. As far as the minor characters go I like Pitne For and the speaker for clan Werlyoc. Pitne For was supposed to be an opportunistic swindler, and the voice really gave the impression. As for the clan speaker, I really don't know why I like his voice though. I just thought the voice actor did a really good job voicing such a minor character.

The only one I really hated was Aresth, the guy you encounter randomly at the end of Jack's loyalty mission. He felt weak.

4/EDI, i love the Tricia Helfer voice (probing uranus ).
5/mordin, it was what i expected from a salarian voice. Oh, and because he sing. Well, it's mostly because of the song.
6/Sovereign/Harbinger, i assume they are the same voice. Don't know, i loved them.

I disliked Thane voice, but since i dislike everything about the character,...
Oh and Verner, the fan.

Yea.I completely agree!
And Thane Krios voice had same effect on me,as if someone scratching glass with nail.
Plus,CSI style conversations make it completely impossible to talk to him for more than 10 seconds.

It's really hard to pick a standout, because the majority of the voice work in this game is just so fantastic. Garrus's wry sarcastic voice is good but what cracks me up are his battle cries. He's just so..enthusiastic to be shooting stuff. xD

I know they probably run all the Salarian voices through some kind of pitch altering device but the guy who did Mordin did an awesome job of making him so frenetic and hilarious with the phrasing. When you try and get him to slow down...too good.



Oh man I could go on and on!

I do have a least favourite, though. I thought Jacob was awful. His delivery was so flat and uninspiring. It totally killed his loyalty mission for me, this was supposed to be his emotional high point and it was like he was mildly perturbed he locked his keys in his car or something.

I like just about all the voicework. Some stand-outs for me include Thane -- I had to acclimatize myself to it after being used to his E3 version, but once I did, woah. His VA is amazing. There's an incredible amount of inflection to it and the voice itself is like an auditory back massager. I love it. Sexy, masculine, mature, and above all alien.



Samara's voice grew on my as well, especially during her later conversations where she warms up to you. It shows in the delivery of her lines.



I think one of the only voices that bothered me was Liara's (she sounds far too breathy) and Shiala's (she sounded off too. Perhaps for obvious reasons, but still.)



I've never been a big fan of Meer either but he does have a few good lines.

male shepard: I just hate his voice.  they should do an add-on where you create a squadmate and if sheperd dies you can play as this other squadmate in the 3rd game. more specifically they should make him with a new voice actor. prefferably someone with a much less whitebread accent (seriously any attempt to make anything other than a white shepard just looks ridiculous. And I know what you're saying, if you hate how the male shep sounds so much, make a female, I would but the women look freaking terrible, and its all BW's fault. they need to make it so the hair animates or something otherwise they just look like they used wire for hair.

also Kal Reegar (or however you spell his name): its not that I dislike adam baldwin, the guys awesome, I love to see him do stuff, but he just doesnt really work as a quarian. every time i hear his voice I think its just mr baldwin under the suit, and not this cool general (or whatever, I forget his rank) that they were going for.

everyone else I either like or I can tolerate.

I liked Grunt, i though he had that balance between unrepentant Krogan aggression and childlike excitement down perfectly. Mordin was spot on, Garrus and Samara did a great job, any inflections of idealism or unwanted anger from Garrus would waver through that collected Turian exterior, and Samara had that sultry, untouchable and dangerous quality without the sleeze, I completely bought her as the justice seeking warrior she was.



Everybody was great really, but I have to jump on the bandwagon about Liara's new voice delivery, it was quite odd, and seemed forced from her. But as she was originally a more gentle soul in ME1 maybe that was deliberate. She didn't seem to enjoy what she was doing afterall.



Also The Illusive Man was so smug I wanted to punch him, so good job by Martin Sheen (as always).

I made a Latino Shepherd and it actually fits the voice better than the white Shepherd. But I am with you I wanted a tough guy voice (like Clint Eastwood or Lawrence Fishburn). My Malcolm Shepherd just sounds like an idiot instead of the Baddass Thundercrash from Unreal Tournament.
 
I would also like to see a more comic relief character like a Private Hudson type (from Aliens – “It’s game over!”). Everyone is way too uptight (even Grunt…though he says some funny things he is being serious).

But I really liked everyone's voices in the game a ton. I was however disappionted w/ Liara's. It sounded like they switched voice actors but I don't know if that's the case. It sounded nothing like her ME1 voice.
