OK..OK.. I admit it..... If any RPG gives the option to create your own PC's ingame look  I've always tried to make the final product look as close to my auctual face as possible (honestly so I can really feel like I'm leaving this World and entering another....LOL...escape dammn you escape...!!)

Comon now...be honest, how many of you do the same thing? Image IPB

And before you wise ASSSES say a word...Yup I admit I wont be the best looking PC roaming the country sides of DA...hehe Image IPB

As in would we try to make characters modeled after us more attractive?

Well I generally don't make chars that look like me, I don't see the point. But if I tried I'd just use facegen - a nicely accurate and honest program. I am content with the way I look, and I'm generally considered attractive in RL :) So no big "honesty" issue for me there.

i don't try and make it spot on, i just get the same hair (or as close as can be) and same eyes and leave most of the rest default, apart from tatoos and facial hair really... I also try and make other characters too though.

Hm, nah, i'd have a hard time playing a dwarf then.

As for humans, pretty much everything Sshodan said applies to me as well

Pardon me Shodan, good name BTW....and you said you dont see the point! I would think many would love to play themselves in RPG roles, than again maybe not...Image IPB i think it makes it more realistic...

I'm capable of putting myself into the mindset of a character I'm playing.

The characters in the game are far more interesting than I am.

And if you suggest "well in the game you don't have to be YOU! You can act in ways you wouldn't IRL!" Well, then that's not me anymore. So there's no point in trying to put my face onto something.

I'll be honest, though. I share a first name with the guy in my signature. But it's just because I like my name. I don't always use it.

I'd love to do it, and I actually tried with my male human noble, but DAO lacks my beard style. Or my haircut, for that matter. Or my terrbily deformed, hideously scarred and pimply countenance.

So, I'll settle for the dwarf you see on your left.

To be honest, there's no way for me to know how many people do this. If you mean to ask if I do the same thing then no, I don't.

I always do - which is why character creation has always been important to me. Totally let's me feel more 'connected' to the character.

I try to when making humans or half elves, but when making elves my bigest goal is to not make a Legolas clone.

It doesn't help that it'd be impossible to make me with the DA character creator.
