So you were kidnapped. Got it. ;D
Why can't a mage elf be a DALISH elf?!!!

More than likely, I fell asleep and rolled out of the Aravel; Silly Hala; need to watch for speedbumps.....
My point is that there are ways to play as you wish if you open your mind a bit more than the writers, designers, and cutscenes intended. Like back in NWN1, it took me a bit to explain that 'Torm' simply was Dwarvish for 'Justice', and that no ties to FR were needed, or any new code; just an open mind for fairy dust.

I thought the Dalish didn't get facial tattoos until their rite of passage? So a Dalish Mage which was "stolen" by the chantry couldn't have tattoos.
(sorry people who played like that, just the logic behind it says no tattoos) :-(

Who says I had to be a babe when I entered the orphanage? And even if I did not have them at this time, there may be a precedent for a rebellious teen to get get them done anyway.
This was done for my mage going into the Keeper spec; worked well enough for me. If Bio did not want mages with tats, should not have allowed it at Character Creation.

Humans in these settings tend to see themselves as the Master-race that will lead and rule over all other races, imposing their own beliefs and tradition over others. The circle of Magi is an example of this. It is how Humans deal with Magic. While the Dalish deal with Magic in their own terms.
It would have been interesting to see a Dalish Mage, but not necessary.

What I like are the dialogue options to speak out of the Chantry, Humans, etc. Even if not chosen, the thoughts are still available as motivation for the Elven warden, be it Dalish or not.

This bothered me too...so much that I enabled the PC console and changed my class to mage and skipped the whole tower bit. Its kind of funny because after the joining one of your options goes along the lines of "that was worse than the harrowing"...a rite of passage I never did lol
