So, I just hit the camp for the first time and was "offered" to buy DLC by a quest NPC. I just can't believe the sheer greed that motivated this design. Is this EA's doing or Bioware's? Did I not just pay $54 for this game? Did console players not pay $64? This is just ridiculous! There is no reason whatsoever that WK shouldn't have been included in the retail game, none. At least you could have left it out of the game entirely to make it APPEAR that it was created afterwards, but no it's right there given as a quest with a dialogue option of "Download New Content"!

This is EXACTLY the same as buying a book and having to pay extra money to read a chapter just "because". It's insulting to me what has become of the video game industry.

This game is far more in depth & larger than almost any other title out there. They gave us Blood Dragon Armor & Stone Prisoner for free since it was finished early. It is only $7, If you don't want to buy then don't but do not come on here & cry about it like a little kid.

You're missing the point. People don't want to buy it but they don't want it shoved in their faces and permanetly stained in their journal. Everytime I go to the party camp I'm reminded of the greedy advertising bot they've placed there. We payed full price for the game, we shouldn't have to suffer through Website links during conversation.

It's almost as if Bioware did it JUST so they could frustate people in to buying the DLC. I'm getting the first mod which removes all DLC sellers from the game.

It's hardly being shoved in your face nor must you "suffer through" anything. Please cease the overdramatic whining. If you don't like the DLC, don't buy it. If you don't like the NPC, don't speak with it and/or just ignore it. That simple. Neither choice requires running to the forums crying because "Omg Bioware are so greedy!!!! How dare they put a single NPC in the game with an option to purchase a DLC!!!!!! It ruins my immersion, the game sucks now!!!!!!!1!!1!1!!!elven"

Stop crying over little minor things and just enjoy the game.

In short, IFSW.

It's hard to ignore something which is ALWAYS in your camp with a stupid glowing symbol above it's head.

Stop mindlessly throwing out insults. Why should my dislike of ingame advertising insult you? Not all of us like having products forced down our throats.

I found the Stone Prisoner simply amazing, and Shayle (real name ;) ) extremely well build (you want the golem with you when you go into the Deep Roads, trust me), and I hope that any future DLC companions will be as integrated into the main campaign as the golem is.

That said I feel like the Warden's Keep could've been done a little better. It's not the price, no. It's roughtly equivalent to a lunch at fast food restaurant so really, anyone complaining about the price should get a new job (I work part time, thank you, it's still enough to afford something this silly cheap). It's the fact that after exploring quite nicely told story about a rebel Gray Warden (people not interested in the story should stop playing RPGs *right now*) and being promised a base of operations for your party you're left with two ok-ish vendors (the blacksmith made me a sweet longsword) and a trunk for your gear... a TRUNK!

From the description of the DLC I was expecting full access to the fortress (all levels) and having all the options I have in my travelling camp available there as well (all Companions idling around somewhere, forces pledged to you making a camp in the courtyard etc.).

It's good for its price I'd say, but there's a hint of a wasted potential as well.

I see the Bioware fan boys just can't let it go. Do you people just not care at all about your money or the quality of your games? Do they just need to slap Bioware on the box and you give all your money for whatever they happen to be selling? Advertising WHAT SHOULD HAVE BEEN INCLUDED WITH THE RETAIL GAME, in a story driven game, IN THE GAME, is ridiculous!

Just because you are a kid with no responsibities and $7 means nothing to you is no reason to waste it on this garbage anyway. EA makes things like this just to exploit you, Look at all the garbage they sell on Xbox live...they SELL cheat codes for games for crying out loud!

Here we see a fine example of a CDM, the "fanboy" label. Other labels include "troll" and "invalid"

Please stop being so oversensitive and so overdramatic. If you don't like the DLCs, don't buy them. Simple as that. There is no reason to run to the forums crying just because there's an NPC offering an option to buy a DLC. It only breaks immersion when you let it. Honestly, calm down, stop getting so worked up over such a minor issue.

Take a break, step away from the computer, go outside and have yourself an ice cream cone. Image IPB

Also, just because a DLC is offered at the same time as release, does not mean it was removed from the original game. You do know that there is a seperate DLC team right? Honestly, these "greedy EA/Bioware" conspiracy theroies are just silly, but hey, at least they're amusing.

It's only hard if you make it.

I am not throwing out insults, merely stating my opinions and observations. Also, the products are hardly being forced down anyone's throat. Once again, please stop being so oversensitive and so overdramatic, there is simply no need for it.

IFSW.

Pot Meet kettle

I find it ironic that you like to throw about insults and labels like "whiner" then get all defensive when someone calls you a fanboy. You can't have it both ways, iether you ditch the continous whiner remarks or people will keep calling you a fanboy.

If you want to have this discussion your only come back has to be something other than "stop crying"

Shale and its quests, story comments, personal quest, etc was a good value in my book that i got for free :P that being said Wardens Keep did seem a tad lackluster in comparison.

the dlc is pretty weak.

the wk, is boring... you don't even get the keep. just a party storage... which should have been in the camp in the first place.

when you get a entire warden keep - but can't enter -... you party doesn't move there, they just like the outdoors i guess. If there is another dlc to open the keep... it better be free.

I deserve this regardless, i bought it without waiting.

shale is pretty weak too. took him through the mines.. a goulum(sp?) and he didn't say a word, same as the dwarf city. wyyn just kept harassing him.

maybe i just haven't gotten to the point where he talks.

the dlc is easy too.

ME dlc was weak, i really need to stop buying it.

i like the game though, played 70 hours so far.

As I've said before, I have not been throwing out any insults. I've only been stating my opinions and offering my observations. You might want to try not looking for insults(especially where they don't exist). After all, don't go looking for snakes, you might find them.

Heh defensive? I really don't care what CDM you decide to label me. I find it rather amusing. Someone has a minor issue with a game, so they immediately come running to the game's forums to whine about it(rather than looking for an actual solution, which are often extremely simple), then when someone disagrees with them, or points out that they are indeed whining/crying, that person is promptly labeled either "fanboy" "troll" or their post is "invalid."  Hilarious! Image IPB

For those freaking out/getting upset over the DLCs and the DLC NPC(and other minor issues, like "silly underwear", elves with sideburns, moist lips, brown teeth, no bowstrings, etc), here are some helpful steps to become happier.

1. Grow up

2. Start thinking more rationally

3. Do not let minor little things upset you, especially when there are very simple solutions(in the case of the DLC and DLC NPC: do not play/buy the DLCs and ignore the DLC NPC, it will not break your immersion if you do not let it.).

4. Stop being so oversenitive and so overdramatic. If someone looks for insults, they'll find them. Bioware/EA is not forcing anything down anyone's throat, nor are they conspiring to take anyone's money.

5. Profit, live long, be happy.

What annoys me is the "PREMIUM CONTENT" tab in-game.

It's like implying the rest of the game is just a placeholder. Like a cheap car. It'll get you from A to B, but it won't have any bells and whistles.

Cars, however, WILL NOT ADVERTISE that you can get a sunroof and upgraded speakers while you drive. Ugh.

The Warden's Keep DLC annoys me to no end and borders on false advertisement. I can't ever enter the cleaned-up keep after completing the quest!

Warden's Keep was a huge ripoff, they advertise and in game call it your new base when you clear it out and the mage hints at opportunities in the future but its all BS. Its just a open flea market after you beat it.

Not worth 7$ for False Advertising and 30 minute tops content.

Shale was okay, for Free DLC but I'd NEVER paid money for either DLC.  The ME DLC sucked too. I hope bioware gets their act together if they want to push DLC they are Worse then Bethesda when they started DLC.
Bethesda learned to make good DLC and im hoping one of these days Bioware will also. It drags down the entire game (which the base game is great, no question).

To me the keep feels simply unfinished, and hopefully it will be finished at some point in the nearby future and bundled up with the Warden's Keep download.

The skills you get only take 2 out of 4 slots... so there's clearly something missing.
