So, my better half loves me soooooo much, that she went ahead and per-ordered me the Final Fantasy XIII - 360 console bundle for V-day.  Ya, I know, shes a keeper.

I plan on continuing to use my current console, as well has my new FFXIII console in seperate rooms of the house... My question is, will my Cerberus account and the DLC i already have, be usable on both consoles?  Or am i going to have to pay for everything twice if i want to use it on both my old and new consoles?

Yes, I believe you just have to transfer your gamertag back and forth and be logged on to xbox live all the time to use the DLC

If other people wished to play DLC with their gamertag, they'll have to use the console that has the license for it. So if you plan on using the new FFXIII as your main household console, you should transfer licenses to that one so that other gamers in the household or guests can use DLC.

Seriously, you're not going to want to recover back and forth constantly.  It's a pain in the tuchas.  What I do is, I keep my gamertag on a memory unit instead of the hard drive.  Then it basically works like a smart card -- I can instantly log in to whatever XBox I have that memory unit plugged in to.

(As a bonus, whenever that card is in your pocket, nobody can log in on your gamertag just by pressing a button on one of your xboxes.  Which might come in handy in a multi-person household.)

thanks for the info.  i pretty much am the only one who plays, its just me and my girl... but i would like for her to get more into xbox eventually, she pretty much sticks to wii.  so ill keep that in mind.  ill deff be using the FFXIII console as my main.

can i just redownload all my DLC and licenses on the new console/hdd, or will i need one of those transfer kits.

They are sadly not the same.  I'm talking about things like this:

http://www.amazon.co.../dp/B000B6MLRS/

If you don't have one, my suggestion would be to go to a local used game store and find the cheapest used one you can.  A lot of older XBoxes came with 64 MB units that are not enough to store a lot of content, and people traded them in.  You can't store a lot on them, but you can store your gamertag on them and use them the way I describe.

Be aware that third party memory units often won't work on updated/patched/networked XBox 360 units.  You really have to use a Microsoft-branded one, sadly.  But I find that it's totally worth it.

If you will only use the content while you are connected to the internet and logged into XBox Live, then there's no problem.

If you also want the content to work for other users or while the system is not connected to the network, you have to do something a little more complicated.  The transfer kits will not do the job.  You'll want to read this:

Just network your xbox's to each other
