And she tells me I have messages when I don't.
She keeps pulling this one on me too. I keep expecting she's going to laugh at me when I check.

So let me start this with the disclaimer with the fact that I am, female, straight, and I'm playing a femShep.
Now, I loved the game, loved the squad characters and their stories, and by far the most fun I've had gaming in the last six months, but after completing the game, I have one truly heartfelt plea for ME3:
*Please give us an option to fire Kelly Chambers.* Or at least give femSheps the renegade option to punch her in the face. I don't want her dead. I just want her on the other end of the Galaxy from wherever I am at any given time. I'm even cool with a hefty severance package. She can have all of the Platinum I didn't use on upgrades.
In my opinion, she wins the coveted award for most irritating video game character *ever*. I'm including all 151 original Pokemon and Jar Jar Binks in this summary. If I hear her say, "Commander, you have unread messages" one more time, I'm pulling a Nichelle Nichols and freaking the hell out. Kellygrrl is what happens when the irritating cheerleader from High School gets divorced, at 22, by the captain of the football team, and realizes she has to get a Bachelors in Arts and a public relations job - then graduates at the bottom of her class and can only keep jobs by continually trying to sleep with her bosses. <_<
What does Chambers *do* other than feed my fish, report my actions to the Illusive Man, and tell me I have e-mail? She doesn't bring me a nice cup of tea and the morning paper. I could deal with a nice cup of earl grey and what's new on the extranet. She shows no particular professional psychological insight. She giggles about the characters she wants to sleep with. Friends, good ladies and gentlemen - I ask you - is that how a psychologist acts?
Of course, there are *ahem* less tactful ways to get rid of her, but this requires getting rid of several other characters who are amicable, useful, and who I have no malicious intent towards. It was a tough call. I really enjoyed the cutscene where she melts into goo.
I also realize that others find Miranda Lawson equally annoying. However, Miranda has three redeeming characteristics:
1)She actually has a personality, and her loyalty quest shows she has something resembling a soul. An egocentric soul, but a soul, nonetheless.
2) Her dialogue shows an sufficient level of intelligence, and she is useful in combat.
3) She stays. The hell. In her office.
I realize that most males are not having this problem. I hear she looks great in lingerie. But I implore you, dear Developers, to give me the option of a moment of peace on my bridge. Or a good cup of tea.
Am I the only one she grated on? Males? Females? Perhaps I am insane.

It's adorable how female gamers are OMG JEALOUS LOL when they express dislike for a character who happens to be female. Even if Kelly were a male character, I'd find them completely annoying and obsolete.
