It was sad to see the Normandy so terribly empty after the rescued crew failed to make it back to the Normandy during the suicide mission. Kelly was about the ONE person I didn't miss. I cried for dr. chakwas though, and the chef. :(

What about the guy who'd had his family transferred to Earth, just in time for the Collectors to strike at their colony? Huh? Huh?

>_>

I really got way too much enjoyment out of listening to random NPC conversations.

What does Chambers *do* other than feed my fish

She didn't even do that. She specifically said she would. I go and almost die on a so-called disabled Collector ship only to come back and find my fish are dead. *And* I have to be the one who cleans them out.

But then she looked at me with those pretty eyes and I forgot all about it.

I even went through the Omega 4 relay knowing I wasn't fully prepared because I wanted to save her. Because of that I lost Garrus - my favourite squadmate who always had my back with that trusty sniper rifle. Who easily won the title for coolest Turian ever. Who'd been with me through thick and thin 2 years ago. Who scared the crap out of me when I thought he wouldn't pull through on Omega. Now carried away by little insects. Dead. Because of her.

But then she looked at me with those pretty eyes and I forgot all
about it.

Trying to figure out what the OP is complaining about. If you don't want to be nice to her, all you have to do is act professional, she follows your lead and does nothing but her receptionist job. She will inform you when X person wants to talk to you, she'll inform you when you have new calls/email. That is about it.

Seems you are more worried about what she does in other peoples games, that what she does in your game:)

I didn't care about Yeoman Chambers... only talked to her once.

I lost my whole crew (crew not squad) on the suicide mission, not because I hated them but because I didn't want to risk my squad or the mission. And though I miss Ken, Chakwas, and the cook... I sorta like the quiet Normandy. So I see where the OP is coming from.

So let me start this with the disclaimer with the fact that I am, female, straight, and I'm playing a femShep.

Now, I loved the game, loved the squad characters and their stories, and by far the most fun I've had gaming in the last six months, but after completing the game, I have one truly heartfelt plea for ME3:

*Please give us an option to fire Kelly Chambers.* Or at least give femSheps the renegade option to punch her in the face. I don't want her dead. I just want her on the other end of the Galaxy from wherever I am at any given time. I'm even cool with a hefty severance package. She can have all of the Platinum I didn't use on upgrades.

In my opinion, she wins the coveted award for most irritating video game character *ever*. I'm including all 151 original Pokemon and Jar Jar Binks in this summary. If I hear her say, "Commander, you have unread messages" one more time, I'm pulling a Nichelle Nichols and freaking the hell out. Kellygrrl is what happens when the irritating cheerleader from High School gets divorced, at 22, by the captain of the football team, and realizes she has to get a Bachelors in Arts and a public relations job - then graduates at the bottom of her class and can only keep jobs by continually trying to sleep with her bosses.  <_<

What does Chambers *do* other than feed my fish, report my actions to the Illusive Man, and tell me I have e-mail? She doesn't bring me a nice cup of tea and the morning paper. I could deal with a nice cup of earl grey and what's new on the extranet. She shows no particular professional psychological insight. She giggles about the characters she wants to sleep with. Friends, good ladies and gentlemen - I ask you - is that how a psychologist acts? =]

Of course, there are *ahem* less tactful ways to get rid of her, but this requires getting rid of several other characters who are amicable, useful, and who I have no malicious intent towards. It was a tough call. I really enjoyed the cutscene where she melts into goo.

I also realize that others find Miranda Lawson equally annoying. However, Miranda has three redeeming characteristics:

1)She actually has a personality, and her loyalty quest shows she has something resembling a soul. An egocentric soul, but a soul, nonetheless.
2) Her dialogue shows an sufficient level of intelligence, and she is useful in combat.
3) She stays. The hell. In her office.

I realize that most males are not having this problem. I hear she looks great in lingerie :(. But I implore you, dear Developers, to give me the option of a moment of peace on my bridge. Or a good cup of tea.

Am I the only one she grated  on? Males? Females? Perhaps I am insane.

You're not insane, you're just girl-hostile. Happens a lot when one female meets another female they view as a competitor. They get all catty. B)

Happens to men too, but they take the more direct approach to solving it by blowing up Kaidan with a nuclear bomb.

Strange, I really liked her. More than Miranda possibly. Missed out on any romancing because she got liquified.

But I cried the most when Garrus died :(

I didn't particularly like Kelly, but I didn't dislike her either. The message and crew updates were useful.

Unless you were running back and forth past the galaxy map I can;t see her giving you updates all that often... She's not Navi, she doesn't follow you around every-bleeding-where you go and offer a chipper "listen!" "hey!" "look!" every 3 seconds.

I don't hate Kelly, but I don't like Kelly either. She's kind of a non-entity. If she was really the ship's counselor, she'd deal with all of your squadmates' crap so Shepard doesn't have to. ;)

Basically she's there to do a job EDI could (and should) be doing, telling you you have messages. The only thing that irritates me about her is that you have to flirt with her to get her to feed your fish. She's my darned secretary, she should be feeding my fish anyway!

i loved the fact i didn't have to keep checking for messages, she just told me all the time. she didn't bother me at all, i just forgot to talk to her half the time. LOL

Plus, I definitely can't be hating her name. :)

as for her being a LI, i thought it was kind of cheap she went for both my fem and male shep ( like Liara in ME 1). they should have made her just one way IMO instead of just 'woo hoo! any hands will do!'

but that is a whole other thread entirely...LOL

What we really lack is a DLC with new conversation options for Kelly.

"I just had a nice chat with your friend Tali."

"Oh ? Let me guess... you told her she has unread messages on her terminal ?"

She's a space hippy, very loving, free love and all that. Why do you think you has no specific job, she just took liberal arts classes and decided she is a counselor because she likes to talk a lot.

Of course she will remind you of new messages and whatnot. It's her job! :)
