I never really liked Kelly, to be honest. She doesn't have any redeeming qualities and I think really the only reason I talked to her was because I like to hear opinions on the squadmates.



The whole pole dancing thing up in your pimp pad was really out of character, as well.

I liked her as a man playing a man who was not sleeping with her. My wife also thought she was great. Last I checked, my wife was straight too. (She romanced Thane.)

Am I the only one she grated  on? Males? Females? Perhaps I am insane. 

As a male, I can say that Miranda in lingerie does not make up for her frustrating personallity. Too self-important and only shows her humanity twice.

But, yeah, I'd like to replace Kelly. I think it'd be kinda fun to have Legion telling me "You've got mail."

And if you're insane, good for you. Sane people scare me.

Sexuality is a specrtum, it's not either or. Bisexual people exist, you know, and it isn't that they can't make up their mind, or they're going through a phase. It's just that to them, gender is (largely) irrelevant. Love is love is love.

Kelly is a fine example of a bisexsual character... Actually, she may, in fact, be the very first pansexual (or omnisexual) character in a computer game (given her comments on aliens, which is suprising for a member of Cerebus).

I can see how Kelly might be annoying. But I liked her in principle, though I was disturbed by her stripperific outfit and dancing at the end for those who took it to that level (I watched it on YouTube, as my fem!Sheperd stayed loyal to Liara).

Love every other female characters!  Never used a male squadmate except when required for the entire game.

boo hiss. the stripperiffic outfit and dancing was fantastic! My Femshep and Kelly had a hell of a time. and apparently my Femshep stayed loyal to Liara also even though she got super naughty with Kelly, maybe it'll just be Kelly and Femshep's secret from Liara.......hmmmmm that makes me like Kelly even more.

Every Cerebus operative on your ship (including Miranda and Jacob, but excluding Joker and Dr Chakwas) are potentially spys for TIM. Personally, I prefer to think that Sheperd won them all over, and won't need to worry about them any more.

And I was the same, I never used a male squadmate in missions unless I had no choice.

I am not generally a prude (Jack's lack of top never really bothered me that much), but the whole fling thing with Kelly was very exploitative. Even as a sex positive feminist, I found it disturbing. As much as I'm happy the got around to putting in a pansexual character, the way the presented her at the end of the game was just... well it was too much like the stereotype of bisexuals - that they're all ****ty and promiscous. Which isn't true at all. (Do the other LIs have similar scenes at the end, if they survived? Just curious.)

can't some bisexuals be ****ty and promiscuous? maybe Kelly happens to be that way. why does she have to be the spokeswoman for "all" bisexuals? she is her own woman and i thought she was very powerful for being so. I liked her, and i thought she and my Femshep's sexual encounters spoke volumes for the advancement of women throughout the galaxy! ohhhh yeahhhhh!!!!!

I honestly could do without Kelly. She's useful in prompting you when loyalty missions become available, an' feeding the fish, of course. I wouldn't fire her, though, unless I found someone better.

I confess I didn't read the whole thread - was anticipating many gasps of horror and jokes about fish. I am also female, straight and playing a FemShep.

I love Kelly. She's only annoyingly flirtatious if you flirt back.

1) Have a chat with Kelly after recruiting Garrus. She says something along the lines of "I just want to hold him close and tell him everything will be okay." And she looks so sad when she says it...I think that constitutes soul.
2) I think Kelly covers the serious, I'm-a-qualified-psychologist part of her character in her discussions with you about Zaeed and Jack, as well as when explaining her feelings about being assigned to this mission.
3) I'd never check my private terminal if she didn't remind me. Plus, she agrees that Thane is sort of sexy.

I don't know if I'd go so far as to shove her out the airlock, but I do really dislike Kelly. Not only is she a dirty liar, what with the "You have new messages!" when I didn't have new messages, but people who are always that upbeat and cheerful annoy me. If I could give her some of that drug in the The Onion video, I'd probably be able to stand her.



I think I'd be happy leaving her on Tuchanka, where she can spread scale-itch throughout the varren population (because we all know she's where the outbreak came from.)

Serious thread Necromancy, I'm sure, but I had to vent and the OP expresses my frustrations adequately. I'm replaying the entire ME trilogy and I'm in the latter stages of ME2. Chambers has recently started telling me I have unread messages at my private terminal every. Single. Last. Bloody. Time. That I step off the galaxy map... and I don't. She's lying to me. And it's starting to make me crazy. It's like Chinese water torture. I tried to talk Grunt into stuffing her in the airlock so I could float her but he only wanted to talk about using a claw hammer on turians. I tried to talk to Jack about it but she told me to go away. I tried to requisition a predator pistol from the armory but Jacob wouldn't let me have one.

I. Hate. Kelly Chambers. I hate her. The sound of her voice is inspiring ptsd level anxiety/aggression responses. I caught myself screaming "Shut UP!" at my computer monitor. I'm quite sure my neighbors think I've lost my mind. My dog sure does. Fortunately he doesn't judge.
 

Lingerie and lap dances are not enough to make up for this insanity. She's useless, without any real insight, has no depth, and annoys me every single last time she opens her mouth.

 

That, and she still won't take care of my goddamn fish for me.
