Gay Romances Part 4

Woo can see plain as day that these threads are constantly being invaded by hate speech and trolls, and yet when they appear, we are the ones to get punished with a "moratorium"?
I'm not saying any of this excuses insults and name-calling on our part, but there've been dozens upon dozens of individuals posting hate speech and harrassment and trolling repeatedly for reactions, and I haven't seen even one of them receive so much as a slap on the wrist, despite a warning earlier in these threads that those people would be banned. Whereas, any one instance of us reacting with anything but feigned smiles towards those hateful comments is cause of locking down a thread and treating us like children with a "time out"?
So when this thread eventually gets crowded again with haters and trolls and people complaining about us being allowed to have this discussion and yet can't help but to post repeatedly in the thread anyway -- hell, it's already started -- we're all expected to just nod politely and ignore them because that's exactly what the mods are going to be doing...is that right? Please, let me know beforehand so at least I can be aware of what to expect.

I've never seen a thread re-opened before. Anyway, the last thread was more civil than the majority of threads on this board. It doesn't look good for BioWare to censor us, in light of their recent decision.
You are not being "censored" when you have had the opportunity to post your "suggestions" on THREE TREADS. This is spam and should be locked as part of the FORUM/SOCIAL SITE RULES in place. There is no discussion value in this thread it is just spam.
What makes you all so special that you have to constantly spam this thread in GD, while other special interest groups are happy to create a GROUP and continue with the discussion in the GROUPS DISCUSSION BOARDS?
Because every other group (dealing with romances) have had their requests implemented into the game. We have not.
And there's basically a thread for all of them too. (The other romances that is. Even the ones that are in game/ or the ones that were only in ME1).
This isn't really more 'special interests' than Garrus/Tali love (not that I mind anyone having Garrus/Tali love ^^) .
Anyway I should stop feeding trolls.
Back to the regularly scheduled Kaidan/ManShep fanboy/fangirling. :-)
Ah Sexy Kaidan.
Mmh. So what would you think his reaction would be upon realizing that his feelings for M!Shep are returned?
I'd go with shock and then a bit of embarassment on his part for not saying something sooner. Followed by some awkward silence before going on to save the galaxy.
Why can not not discuss this in a GROUP DISCUSSION BOARD?
This has nothing to do with the "suggestion" to include gay romance in the game. It is off-topic and spam.
What makes you think you are so special that you can SPAM this thread on GD instead of on a GROUP DISCUSSION BOARD?

Well you're perfectly welcome to start a thread for any of those interests, if you'd like. I'm certainly not going to complain!SunglareAK wrote...

Answer the simple question.
Why do you feel compelled to start a FOURTH THREAD on the SAME TOPIC that has already been discussed to death?
What makes you so special that you can not discuss this on a GROUP DISCUSSION BOARD like everyone else with a special interest?

However the characters involved in such romances should be new. I would much rather keep the ME1 & 2 romances as they are now. Keep them heterosexual and make completely new (but quality) homosexual romances for ME3.

I dunno the Rachni queen left a message for me with that Asari on Illium.. I'm pretty sure that she'll want to hook up in ME3, we just need to be patient.
She seemed almost as happy to hear that I was alive as Liara was.

One of my main reasons for wanting the current romances to be made open to the same sex is because if they save it for ME3, then that's two games without any M/M romance for people who want it. Releasing it as a DLC hurts no one, ends the debate, and provides a bit more fun for people who love this series (the DLC should contain squadmate F/F romances too). The characters are differenct depending on how you play anyway, it's not like altering this one thing (which no one who doesn't want it will have to deal with) will be such a huge stretch.

There are any number of threads at any moment on the front page which, by your logic, are perfectly suited to being discussed in their own various "group discussion boards." If every single such thread were in fact limited only to those groups, then the forums would be practically empty.
You've evidently read through every single post on this subject and is aware of anything that anyone could possibly say about it. However, many people haven't. I'd prefer to have this sort of discussion out in the open, so that people who aren't necessarily part of "Fight for the Love" can contribute as well if they want. There've been many such people who probably aren't even aware that FftL exists, and yet have contributed to the discussion. You can see some of those people any one of these pages. Restraining this topic to the group forums limits its viability to the community as a whole.
Does that answer your question? I wouldn't want you to wear out your copy/paste keys.

Well to be fair if one played through the game as femShep it's not -completely- unrelated to the topic at hand since it would be f/f ^^... not my cup of tea at all though.

I wonder how many of Tali's many, many fans played female Shepards? If you look at the Mass Effect character pages on TvTropes, it mentions that. Interesting. That page mentions the same sex disappointments a lot.
I know I did for sure.
I was surprised and a bit sad about it to be sure as I had taken that as a given in BW games. Anyway it's not like I'm sad that I bought the game now, heck it's still a great game and it's hard to find a more well-written female character than femShep but still it made me feel a bit worried about what this might mean for future BW games.

We post this in the GD forum because we would like to generally discuss the inclusion of homosexual romances in the game. We are not special, but we are users of this forum and, as it turns out, users of this forum are allowed to create topics at their discretion. So....there you go?
On topic: Once again voicing my support for the inclusion of homosexual romances and the restart of this thread. I didn't much appreciate our little "time out" earlier, and had hoped someone would continue the discussion. Some of you have brought up the idea of turning current ME characters bisexual for these romances. Personally, I would rather a new character be created from the ground up for this. Bioware create fantastic characters, and I would love to see that sort of dedication afforded to their gay/bisexual character, rather than just tacking on a bisxual switch.

I had a similar experience with ME1. After choosing Kaidan on Vilmire, I fully expected the relationship to evolve, but I was sorely disappointed. It was just so unexpected for a 2007 game, especially from BioWare. I have chosen not to buy ME2 because posters on this forums confirmed lack of same-sex romances in ME2, again...KumoriOokami wrote...

I still think that it's a bit unfair to players who want M/M; two games with nothing? F/F players didn't get much in Mass Effect 2 either. While I do support new love interests for Mass Effect 3 (like Tali for female Shepards), I would rather have them out for this game and give players the joy of playing a romance that spans several games.
Of course, if BioWare were to release an expansion for Mass Effect 2, a big one like Dragon Age: Awakening, then I would rather have this in that (Tali for femShep; I'm not going to pretend, that was the one romance I was looking forward to the most). A full game with new dialog, new sceens, new insights to old characters (come one, everyone just knows that Jacob sneaks looks at Shepard's butt when he's pretending to work), and nothing to step on anyone's toes.
