This is spam. This has already been covered in the last THREE THREADS.

What makes you so special that you need to post this thread on GD for the FOURTH time?

Then if you feel you are no longer capable of contributing or getting anything out of the topic at hand, perhaps you should quit posting in it? You are doing nothing to further the discussion and are borderline trolling.

I've already told you that we are not special. The previous threads were closed due to trolling, spam (what you are currently doing), and flame wars. We were encouraged to continue the discussion and have not once been told that we were not allowed to recreate this topic. We post this topic in the GENERAL DISCUSSION forum because we would like to generally discuss the inclusion of homosexual romances in the game. We are not special, but we are users of this forum and, as it turns out, users of this forum are allowed to create topics at their discretion.

Please stop trying to police this thread. You are not a mod; if you feel it should be closed, alert a mod and move on.

I'm hopeful that Dragon Age: Origins will keep same sex romances in BioWare games. Three million isn't a game that is effected negatively by having it. Maybe it'll give BioWare the push to add it to Mass Effect 2.

Thane was actullay written as bisexual so it wouldn't be that much of a stretch to put his bisexual dialgogue back in. I loves my Thany

This is spam. It has already been posted on the other THREE THREADS and has no discussion value.

I'll concede that part of it is that DAO had a -much- longer dev time than ME2 so they had more time to add in more dialogue and the like.  Still, it's not like there was as much party interaction in ME2 anyway, such as party members reacting to things that you said/did to another one. (Beyond maybe Mordin's suggestions about Tali/oneliners on missions.)

Also the 'silent hero' in DAO makes it a bit easier to mod so even if there's something that a good % of people wanted that wasn't in game, it's fairly easy for the game community to fix it at least for PC gamers.

DAO is definitely an amazing game for squad interaction though no doubt.

Edit to say I'm not going to feed the troll anymore ^^  Someone contact Mordin for an update for that genophage stat.

This is rubbish. You are getting special treatment. Other poster who post a repeat topic that has already been discussed to death have their threads locked.

Thane certainly dresses the part.

While I said that they could just re-edit the current romances (and they still could and it would be fine), I would like for them to go back and redo some of the animations. Make it more manly and such for M/M at least.

Dragon Age was a good game though, the same sex romance with Zevran just added to the experience for me. That's what I want for mass effect, to add to the experience for gamers who want that option

Having the main character voices takes up a lot of room in the game; one reason that Mass Effect has overall less content than Dragon Age: Origins. One reason why Mass Effect 2 needs more DLC content than Dragon Age: Origins in my opinion.

I really don't think the DA and ME teams are really that different, in terms of their views towards gay content. Something just stopped the ME team from implementing the gay content in their final game. I just wish we knew what it was.

Thane, is kinda cute, but Kaidan is the best looking man in ME games. It's such a pity his bisexuality was cut in ME1. It would have been my favorite game otherwise....

A DAO writer said that ME2 was made by a completely different team than DAO, with different priorities.  If Muzyka's excuse has any truth to it, perhaps the ME team did not want the promotional Shepard shown as gay under any circumstances.

According to Mordin, you could start seeing thing if you lick Thane.

Awesome things I'm sure.

I don't think so either. I sincerely believe that this has little to nothing to do with how Bioware views homosexual people or homosexuality in general. Something happened after they created the content; either they were talked out of it by the suits scared of controversy, ran out of space/time, didn't think there was enough demand, etc, but I 'm failry certain it has nothing to do with their real world views on the subject. That's why I feel this thread is important, to let them know there are
those who would appreciate the options were they to find themselves in a situation where they had content and were unsure of whether or not to include it.

Hah!  I know when I saw Thane make his enterance into the game on the recruitment mission I was completely floored by his coolness.  O.O  I can definitely see why so many would find him appealing.  Also his backstory is really touching to me as well.

I have a long debate about Muzyka's comment through private messages (a debate I handily won); his comments are blatantly wrong. Playing as Shepard is not different than playing as any of the origins in Dragon Age: Origins. Once you choose a origin, you are given a last name you cannot change and a history that you cannot change, the same as Shepard. Wait, there is one difference. You can alter Shepard's history. So you have more control over who Shepard is than any of the origins. Hmmm...

Not to mention Jade Empire. Which is far more set in stone than Mass Effect will EVER be.

To resurrect a really dead horse, how awesome would Jade Empire have been if they'd actually had Chinese VA?  I love that game so much and that was one of the only things that consistently broke my immersion. >_<

Haha! Well, to be fair, Jade Empire wasn't technically set in China, just some alternate world that was very China-influenced.

Oh god yes. The fact that they kept reusing that garbled nonsense language for Kythang? I forgot the language name annoyed the heck out of me. If you're going to recycle lines all the time at least have it be actual chinese!
