i thought the architect was supposed to be a Hurlock (or Genlock?) Emissary... i guess he was born -really- different

but I believe the Architect is, in the first trailer, the one with the green orb of glowing energy. if you read "The Calling", you can probably guess what that energy is.

And his plan is to exterminate humanity, because in his plan all people have to do the Warden ritual and the surviving Wardens transform into darkspawn. You have to stop that in the expansion and there will be some friends, other Wardens which are already transformed and which will try to stop you
