Why do you all think that the talking creature in The Calling-book is the architect? Everybody can pretend to be another person if nobody knows the real person.
The creature in the book is also only a lackey of the architect that fulfills his wishes.

it could. but why would Gaider do such a thing?

Corrupted Duncan would have a beard.

Actually, he wouldn't. When the Wardens are corrupted they lose all of their hair. I really think that this is Duncan.

No, there's no way that the Architect was pretending. He was clearly a highly intelligent Darkspawn who had a thing for reading volumes ancient Dwarven texts. I don't think he could "pretend" to be like that.

The talking Hurlock might be that Grey Warden that succumbed to his taint in the book.

I'm thinking he is the guy from the comic. He has the same cape.

In the PM he sent me when I asked David if the Architect was lich guy or Skeletor.

That certainly makes more sense. In The Calling, besides being mentioned that the Architect wore tattered robes and wasn't heavily armored, I got the impression he was more of a physically slight being/non-brute. I seem to recall when Bregan first escaped, he pushed the Architect down and out of the way quite easily. Although...I also seem to recall the Architect's face being described as much less...assembled...than this image we're being shown now; teeth exposed, rotted skin, etc.

I've heard from some that read the book and said that the architect looks like a hurlock emissary.

Apparenly Bioware can't stay consistant with their own design.

Either this or some story bit. Or maybe you can throw out anything The Calling says since games > books. Ask Loghain. lol

Wasn't the architect supposed to be a darkspawn?

Oh well, hopefully the armored talking darkspawn is recruitable somehow.

Mmmh... Warm! ^_^

Me think that Guy with the strange Hairpiece is the Archtect AND he is one of the old Tevinter Archmages, or at least a Disciple of them.
Because the Archmages werent cursed by Blood, like the Darkspawn, so i dont think they look like rotten Flesh, but like this Guy, twisted and bizarre.

So, wait, that guy is the Architect?  I would've swore it was the talking Skeletor guy in the trailer, since he seemed the most Darkspawny.  Now I'm intimated by our enemy as he has an unprecedented weapon to use against me: sexy.  Those pouty lips will be the world's undoing.

Why? He's a dorkspawn. All he needs is a sword in his gut.

The only value this post presented was my newfound awareness of the term "dorkspawn".  I'll never get my monitor clean of dr pepper ever again.

The armored darkspawn is obviously evil, since he throws down a guard of presumably your keep and is about to order another hurlock to cut the throat of the grey haired guy...

I would really like to see him do the evil Skeletor laugh, and cry 'I'll get you next time Warden!!' when we defeat him :P

Coming from another female, there is something erotic about him...or it. I think it is the lips and smooth facial features that are still mostly humanoid.

No, that just can't be the Architect because it doesn't fit the description in the book at all.

I know there's lots of complaining about Loghain, but even in the Calling it's pretty clear that he has changed greatly since The Stolen Throne. I imagine the loss of Rowan plus an unhappiness with the general state of affairs since Maric took over lead him down his dark path.
