So Im borrowing ME1 from a friend and played through it once with a Paragon Shepard, dide some side quests. Now I'm using my same Shepard on a second playthrough and making him Renegade and doing pretty much all the side quests.

So my question is, do the side quests (collecting minerals, exploring all planets, killing of pirates, boarding lost ships etc) effect Mass Effect 2 very much? I want to be a Paragon player, but have more "done" in my Renegade player.
