I purchased the game for PC on the day it came out. When I try to install I get an error message

"Installation failed, unable to find data or disk has been removed"

I then installed it on my wife's computer without issue. I am guessing there is something "unique" about my desktop that is causing issues (perhaps the DVD ROM drive.

Is it possible to download the game files and install that way or do I have to purchase the download?

Why not carefully swap DVD drives just long enough to get past the file that your own DVD is having trouble with? 

I say carefully, when I really mean stealthily, because she may anticipate you will mess up somehow (it's very easy to put optical drives in and take them out). 

I had the same problem.  Two out of three DVDs had problems.  I ended up installing across my LAN here at home.

Hmm. I thought about doing that, but I don't have an extra DVD Rom drive laying around. I may just have to suck it up and go out and buy one.
