Male or female, if Shep has a relationship w/ an alien of the opposite sex, excluding asari b/c of their reproductive methods, has the reputation for doing the "impossible". Who's to say he/she can't again w/ a little help from Mordin, enough research could lead to an hybrid w/out invitro.

Possibly. But I don't think it would be so uncommon either. While it lacks "oomph" there is a certain basic utility in the human form.

As for the other races means of reproduction, Quarians are apparently born, if you talk to Talis Aunt, she was at Talis birth, so it seems they do have live births, implying they do have all the parts needed for sex, Asari most likely have the parts as well, but its not 100% sure yet, as it really depends on if they give live births or not, we know they don't need it since they meld with the other person, and never had men on their planet, or at least I didn't catch that they did, so its possible they don't actually have the parts needed. Turians and Drell I have no idea.

Drell give live birth.

With the lack of any indications of life as it is, we really do not know WHAT to expect in terms of other species on other planets.  We may never know, as it seems gamma ray bursts and other disastrous events regularly sterilize entire solar systems.  We may be a Rare Earth, with a huge chunk of the rest of the universe being rocks and dying stars.  It is frustrating to think somewhere, right now there may be ruins or other indications of intelligent life just sitting, withering away on another world.

So, basically, reproduction:impossible, sex:possible. I'm guessing that the equipment isn't exactly the same but that the more human shaped species have equipment that is enough of an analogue of human equipment that sex is possible with minimal discomfort for most species, if you disregard chirality issues and immunity issues. And chafing. And hallucinations. Heck, sex is possible, but apparently you have to work at it and consult your doctor about the mechanics of it.



I figure salarians reproduce like frogs, though, so they are pretty much of the galactic dating market unless you're an asari. Because everyone is attracted to asari.

Thats a complete assumption.   Its quite possible that the base physical traits of humans go hand in hand with being a sapient intelligence (while hardly fact either since we have no idea).   Just because a species developed on another planet does not mean its impossible or even unlikely that we would physically evolve in a similar manner.   No matter what planet anything is from, we essentially all started out as the same stuff.

Things like walking upright, speech, having arms and legs and fingers, very well may be a common trait amongst sapient species, because those traits are useful, using ourselves as an example, for intelligent life.

Just like most sea going creatures be it mammilian or otherwise on earth have some type of flippers/fins/webbing, despite being different species.  The humanoid structure very well could go hand in hand with intelligence.

Again Neither is obviously known to be fact, as we have never encountered any primitive alien life let alone sapient, but we have no reason to assume, alien sapient life would unlikely share similar builds to ourselves.

In ME universe, not counting asari, it maybe impossible, but so many other sci-fi/fantasy universes cross breeding is a norm; so why is it not possible in ME?

Yeah, only I don't see Mordin saying "Here's some informative diagrams of good positions to try and enough ointment to keep you going for days. Now go have some fun!" if sex with an alien is going to kill you.

Unless it's Morinth, and he'd probably do it the non-subtle way by shooting her in the head before she sex-kills you.

Who wants offspring? Nobody is jumping into the NPC pants for the kids.

What Mordin says is that sex is natural but sex with aliens is going to be uncomfortable. Read: chafing, ointments, possibly making Tali sick, comfortable positions, etc. Then he proceeds to forward you useful data. Which he wouldn't do if the act of sex was impossible.
