Easy solution set your party to hold position, move a party member from plate to plate until you have a faint stone in the first position, do this with a different party member until you have a solid stone in the first position, move your character onto the stone. Lather rinse and repeat for 2nd-4th position

Here, I'll copy it for you. Don't say I never did anything for you. LOL The format is R=right, L=left, the number is the tile number starting from the entrance. Have your party hold and then direct each person to the right tiles.
1. R1, R2, L3
2. Player steps on 1st part of bridge
3. R2, L3, L6
4. Player steps on 2nd part of bridge
5. R2, R4, L6
6. R4, L1, L6
7. Player steps on 3rd part of bridge
8. R4, R5, L1
9. R5, L1, L5
10. Player crosses and bridge is solid
I love the Gauntlet, BTW. For the emotional content, not the puzzles.

This is largely why no one makes straight adventure games anymore.

Worst I can recall lately is those ghastly puzzles in Mass Effect that totally ticked me off, frogger or something. Gods I hated those. Well, that and driving the stupid vehicle. The rest of the game was great, those not so much.

Thank you so much for your solutions - 'tis appreciated.
There is a whole pile of reasons why I don't like puzzles of this type and it also meant that I had to go outside for a solution which also rattled me. I am happy to fit mods etc, but have never really liked walkthroughs.
Sylvius, I take your point, but I for one am glad there is a community and walkthroughs available just in case. If there hadn't been, I would have found a few games I have been playing and enjoying become useless as I simply cannot progress.
And as for those that don;t like combat, my heart goes out to em as there is a lot more of that in DAO, than nasty, nasty puzzles. Apart form that I totally agree about the rest of the gauntlet, I thought it was brilliant. I was immersed and in very deep and then bam, I am pratting about running game in a small window, looking at a browser and mucking about with pen and paper.
And yes, I would rather put my head in scalding water than solve these type of puzzles

Oh please! This is a game what consequences will we suffer if we get help solving a puzzle? It's really nice that you grant everyone the right to choose though, very big of you. We all paid the money to play this game, however, how we decide to is our decision, not the game police.
This puzzle is a game breaker for a lot of people and there are lots of different solutions to it. I would rather get the answer than stop playing the game because of it.

Whichever dev put this puzzle in the game needs to be tied down over an ant colony and covered in honey.

Thanks for your concern over the state of our education.Sylvius the Mad wrote...
The internet really has ruined puzzles in a lot of ways because people can just go look up the solutions, so gamers don't develop the skills necessary to solve them, and as such all the puzzles do is disrupt gameplay.
This is largely why no one makes straight adventure games anymore.
People also learn differently. A verbal person is not going to become a puzzle-solver, though certainly you can improve even on weaknesses. But again, doing so in the middle of a game you're otherwise enjoying might be a bit too much masochism for some.

That post was in answer to the post above mine. I guess I should spell everything out and explain everything very slowly. I was disagreeing with his statement that that gamers shouldn't have access to resolutions of a puzzle.[/b] I'm actually agreeing with those who want quick answers and don't want to be frustrated by game features they dislike.
CHOICES meant choosing to go to YouTube, Gamefaqs, etc is not a bad thing, and that adults have that right. You are flaming me because I agree with you. That's a new one. Thanks. And there I thought I've seen it all.
Reading comprehension is truly an art.
