So I've been seeing a lot of talk on the forums about how cool Infiltrators are and I decided to give it a shot. Problem is, I'm a terrible sniper because A: I'm impatient and B: I just finished playing a Vanguard and like to be up close and personal. Soooo, I decided to try making a Close Quarters Combat (CQC) Sniper.

The idea is to eliminate snipers and heavy weapon enemies from range and use cloak to push forward aggressively to take everyone else on up close. I'm not that good at it yet, but the idea intrigued me so here you go.

Also, for all who know me, you know I love Cryo Ammo. Plenty of that in here too.  Enjoy.

ME2 - CQC Infiltrator 1
Level 5 Build in video
2  Disrupter Ammo
1  Cryo Ammo
2  Tactical Cloak
1  Incinerate
0  AI Hacking
1  Operative

I'm thinking more and more of renaming her Cryo Infiltrator...  you'll see why.
ME2 - CQC Infiltrator 2
Level 7
2  Disrupter Ammo
1  Cryo Ammo
2  Tactical Cloak
1  Incinerate
0  AI Hacking
3  Operative

Took my Iniltrator to Horizon and recorded the first half.  Tough, but fun!  Lot's of good flanking opportunities here.
ME2 - CQC Infiltrator 3 - Horizon
Level 8
2  Disruptor Ammo
1 Cryo Ammo
2 Tactical Cloak
1  Ininerate
0  AI Hacking
3 Operative
2  Points in the bank.

Haestrom:  Recruiting Tali.  Sun wasn't as bad as I thought, level 2 Disrupter Ammo destroyed the Geth.  Made a montage of the first 3/4 of the level and left the whole Colossus fight in.
ME2 - CQC Infiltrator - Colossus
Level 12
2  Disrupter Ammo
1  Cryo Ammo
4  Enhanced Cloak
1  Incinterate
0  AI Hacking
4  Agent
I know what you're thinking, but 8s of Cloak +40% damage is more important to me than 6s Cloak +75%.  As you can see in my videos, I have no problem with damage...  Although I should have put a point into AI Hacking before going to Haestrom
Edit:  I should note that Disrupter Ammo vs. Geth essentially does the same thing as Cryo Ammo vs. Organics:  It allows me to lock single target oppenents down while I finish them off...  although the effects vs. Synthetics seem a little more drastic if not as long.

If anyone is or has played this kind of Infiltrator, go ahead and drop some tips, advice, or just tell about your experience.  I know I can use the help.

have you considered taking the flamethrower as your heavy weapon and using it offensively? I'm not sure at it's effectiveness on insanity but it should be close to if not more efficient than a standard shotgun.

Nice rushing (which I know is the main focus of the video), but it doesn't make a very good argument for cryo ammo.

Quite the contrary. When he rushed, he often had his SMG equiped. Thus, he would get in their face, shoot them via SMG and use the Cryo ammo to temporarily decapicate them. I must say, the video was quite entertaining. I've successfully played an Infiltrator twice and it's always amusing seeing other people play them as well since it's a class that has a lot of versaility and different playstyles.

Yeah, but when he got up in their face they were usually dead before they could freeze. They still have about a second of combat time once they start to freeze, and they're dead by the time it happens.

It's actually not an argument for Cryo, I'm just using it because I love it. At the level it was at, Disrupter ammo didn't do much more damage, so Cryo worked well.

i also like cryo ammo. i use disruptor since i dont have any prereqs to invest points into it. but if i could use cryo, id roll with cryo all day with the infiltrator. nice damage and a CC effect. i actually think its the best ammo out there and i havent even used it with ten points in it yet.

Interesting to see an ifiltrator used in that way. With mine i tended to stay back and led my widow and heavy pistol do the talking and used cloak for the damage bonuses. Also i never used cryo ammo as i found it useless for that role but you seem to use it quite effectively.

Way to think outside the box =P

Interesting, I play mine in a very similar manner.

Operative- Assassin

Incinerate- Incineration Blast

Tactical Cloak- Assassination Cloak

Disruptor Ammo- Heavy Disruptor Ammo

Unsure about my bonus ability, been playing around with AP ammo, Warp ammo, and Reave.

Certainly a diff way to play it. I'll stick with my Cloak + Widow = Head exploding but way to change it up. Would be something to do if maybe you'd done a few infiltrator playthrus and were tired of the normal way of doing it.

Funny.... i always played my infiltrator like this.

Take few sniper shots, rush in with cloak and kill the rest.

But nothing on this video points to CQC.

I was also suprised about that you didnt use cloak that much... i mean when you were shooting behind cover you didnt even use cloak for damage boost.

I'm glad some of you liked it. I'm very new to the class, so I'm still feeling it out, but I think it's going to be fun.

I was thinking of doing something like this, my infiltrator only got started yesterday so I haven't done much yet. I'm going to grap a shotgun and then just play like the Vanguard after the collector ship.

I like your videos but I'm simply not seeing what benefit cryo ammo is having for you. It seems almost all if not all the enemies you freeze pretty much end up dead about 1 second later. Most don't even appear to get the time needed to fully freeze at all. Maybe its a bit too early in the game and you haven't gotten squad cryo yet?

It's way early in the game and I only had 1 point in Cryo.

Enemies have a terrible habit of falling over when frozen which makes them impossible to hit if they do so when shooting from behind cover. At 1:08 in the video you can see this happening. Sometimes if you are at the right elevation you can arc an Incinerate over the obstacle but I've run into a few situations where Cryo has kind of worked against me.

Cryo ammo shines when you get squad ammo. Then you start seeing multiple enemies you aren't even fighting falling over frozen.

I played my Infiltrator in a very similar way. I'd use the sniper rifle to take out an enemy on the flank, then sneak in and blitz them with the SMG on their vulnerable side.

I'll have to do another run now that the Eviscerator shotgun is out, it'd make a good close range anti-armour weapon, to balance out the SMGs anti-shield.

Got episode 2.  It's actually a montage since I didn't feel like putting in the boring running back and forth + dialogue that's in Archangel's mission.

I'm enjoyin your movies a lot man. It's actually motivating me to play a third Infiltrator (The first two were on normal and veteran and I didn't exaclty know what I was doing, thus didn't experience the full potential of the class.) Keep it up.
