Its just stupid hard to given the story. You, Shepard get sucked out into space while pushing Joker into a escape pod and fall thousands of miles into a planet and die. What happens next? The alliance doesn't give a **** and leaves you for dead. The council doesn't give a **** and leaves you for dead. Your own friends and companions that you bled for as you were saving the god damn universe don't give a **** and leave you for dead. WHAT THE ****?

So apparently the only people who give the slightest hint of a damn about you is some pro-human secret organization even though you blew up a few of their bases in Mass Effect one. The only people who care about you are your old enemies. Fantastic.

I simply love how so many of your companions will not only start out the conversation mad at YOU, Shepard, the one who ****ing died but they ALSO give you **** for being with Cerberus. Seriously? You see me for the first time in 2 years after you left me for ****ing dead and you're gonna give me sass? Ashley Williams/Kaidan Alenko would have been shot in the face mere moments after opening his/her mouth and spewing his/her garbage. I would have literally bear hugged Tali and viciously delivered brutal headbutt after brutal headbutt till her mask shattered and she died from severe infection.

There is almost no saving grace to either of their initial encounters. Thank god for Garrus, he's the only one from the original Mass Effect crew I've met so far that hasn't made me want to become violent. I'm kind of curious as to why they didn't put in a "You left me for dead and Cerberus is the only reason I'm standing here breathing right now you ungrateful worthless wretch!" option whenever ANY of the old Mass Effect crew even think of questioning your, Shepard's, designs/motives.

They didn't exactly leave you for dead, you told them all to get on the escape pods while you go get Joker. How the hell are you blaming THEM? They kind of have a right to be a bit pissed. Throughout ME1 you saw Cerberus murder Admiral Kohaku, do experiments with Rachni and Thorian Creepers, unleash Thresher Maws on random soldiers, and a bunch of other assorted douchebaggery. As for Tali, they blew up a Migrant Fleet ship. It was somewhat provoked, but ships are pretty damn precious to them. They're a known terrorist group. That's like you getting pissed at your friends for being a bit angry at you for joining, say, Al-Qaeda.

What was the point of that? If you're so bugged out about how Alenko/WIlliams are pissed off with you didn't you realize Tali was really the only person who thought about Shepard for those two years? Or how Tali and Garrus are both dedicated to you?

Sheesh.

Hahahah. What a great mental image.

But I see where you're coming from. It can be annoying for your old squad mates to give you lectures on how evil Cerberus is when they're the reason that you're alive. It's not like I choose to be a part of Cerberus. It was kind of forced on me, so stop complaining about how evil Cerberus is.

There is one former squad member who didn't leave you for dead. In fact, she's responsible for making sure you ended up being revived. http://masseffect.wi...ect:_Redemption

Apparently going into a rage and killing people is the Paragon path or something.

Garrus/Tali just remind you to watch your back. They're behind Shep 100%.

Everything and everyone that you cared about and worked hard to protect in Mass Effect 1 fails you in the beginning of Mass Effect 2. When you start a game not liking the Human Alliance, The Council and every member of your old crew you can't really say that helps the Paragon route.

Tali offers to supply the grenade if Shepard wants to blow Cerberus up. Bless her.

I found it pretty easy to be Paragon, since the Paragon options are all the 'troll Cerberus' options. It's way improved from the first game; Paragons used to be kind of doormats, but now it's like Captain America.

Unrelatedly, I'll never understand why there's a profanity filter on a forum for a Mature game series. You literally can't quote the actual game that you need to have played to post here.

Being Paragon just means being an idealist and somewhat of a diplomat. It doesn't mean rolling over and taking crap from people who screw you over.

This applies more to the title than the body of the post, but have you noticed that while the pause menu in ME1 is blue in ME1, it's red in ME2? Given the connotations those two colors have in the game, I'm not at all surprised that 2 drives you more towards the renegade line of thinking.

What do you want him to do, put on black eyeliner and run up crying to his quarters to write in his diary about how only MCR understands his pain?

In my game, Tali was actually the one who gave me the grenade with which I blew up the Collector Base reactor... I thought it was a nice throwback to that dialogue.

Yeah, a lot of the Paragon options in this game are actually a bit more aggresive. The Charm option at Tali's trial for her loyalty mission actually sounded fairly pissed, and the Paragon interrupt for the encounter on the Citadel with the Volus and the Quarian was pretty extreme.

Is this what the world looks like from Taliland?

Hint:  it wasn't Tali who saved your corpse from being turned into Collector Chow.

It speaks volumes when mere moments after finding out you're alive you get lectured about how Cerberus is Evil. Newsflash, if Cerberus didn't exist neither would I, Shepard. Not a single one of your companions lifts a damn finger to bring you back to life. Cerberus does, just by that action alone Cerberus is worth more than any one of them.

I agree wholeheartedly about the council and the Alliance. They're giving ME crap after they left me for dead? Liara, Garrus, and Tali are the only ones from the original game I have respect for. Wrex is neutral since he had admittedly important work to do. I wanted a renegade interrupt with Ashley to slap her and say "the first thing you have to say to me is that I suck for not contacting you?"

Tali, not once, gave you **** for being revived. She understandably doesn't trust Cerberus, but that is fine.

1) Your former Squadmate Liara is the only reason you are alive, not Cerberus. If not for her you would be a prize for the collectors.
2) Everyone except for Ashley/Kaiden is happy to see you, and even they are.. They just are resentful, and well.. Not well done imo. But what do you expect? They thought you were dead for two years. It's a bit selfish to think they'll drop everything and and squeal at you.
3)

I would have literally bear hugged Tali and viciously delivered brutal headbutt after brutal headbutt till her mask shattered and she died from severe infection.

..Sigh.
