I learned quite a few tricks that really help on insanity during my play throughs that i have never seen posted

One such trick is when harbinger fires out his blackish blow you out of cover ball if you step side to side a few times while behind cover it messes up its auto targetting and the ball will harmlessly fly overhead, try it!

Anyone else find anything cool that they would like to share, especially with people just starting insanity runs.

Area reave 1 shots husks armor, have samara around and double area reave makes the IFF mission a joke.

-Always take Miranda:

a: She's hot

b: She has Warp AND Overload

c: She increases squad dmg AND squad hp

-Playing as an Adept, get used to the Warp, Pull, Warp combo. Basically you use warp from behind cover to get down defenses, then once they're down, its open season for your pull + warp combo.

-Playing as a Vanguard, Reave + pull works almost as well as Warp + pull, in the situations where charging is suicide

Dominate is quite good for any blue suns missions, take garrus and Miranda hammer off peoples shields with overload and 1 point dominate(no shields) will mean that guy gets killed by his own pretty quick. Especially the Heavies, and if they happen to get some rockets off too YAY!

Take Garrus because once you lower an enemies Shields or Armor e can use Concussive shot and make enemies fall, giving you an advantage of killing the enemy quickly.

- Throw, Shockwave, Pull, (possibly reave as well) all one-shots husks, no matter the difficulty. AoE versions = lots of dead husks with one shot

- Husks are very impervious to gunfire and combat abilities (i.e. concussive shot). They are however very vunerable to tech and biotic attacks.

- Heavy Mechs can be hacked, allowing you to shoot them with impunity as they will not return fire.

Miranda is definitely one of the most useful characters on insanity. She has both Overload and Warp for barriers/armor.

Id definitely learn Warp Ammo as well for your bonus talent.

Umm Alex this thread is tips for insanity so unless you beat insanity on your adept since we last talked a few hours ago you have no say lol. Also cheating by cutting all your cooldowns in half and giving your squadmates ar's doesn't count as beating it on insanity. Ya thats right I went there and don't give me that it was broken and you fixed it crap lol.
/end angry rant because I can't mod my 360 and you keep rubbing it in lol

Its even systematic: You have to bluff like in Basketball. Go right and the Ball follows you, then you go left and it will still go in the wrong Direction. It needs some Timing-Practice, or else it will follow you still.

Another Possibility is: Before the Moment it hits your Cover, press your "Action-Button", so you leave  Cover and take one Step back. This Way the Blast will have no Effect on you. Again: You need to practice the Timing. ;)

- Pick your battles. There are a number of missions where the objective isn't to kill all enemies in the area, but to either kill a specific enemy (Warden Kuril in 'Recruit the Convict', the Gunship in 'Recruit Archangel), or to activate something (the engine in 'Imminent Ship Crash'). Knowing what the objectives for these missions are, and going for them immediately while your squad concentrates on the minions that are slowing you down, can save you a lot of headaches.

Quite a decent method in the "Husk Cave" Mission with the relict to get gunned down to win.

The problem is: On Insanity, Husks start with ARMOUR.  Throw, Shockwave & Pull will do little more than stagger an Armoured Husk.  You have to peel off the Armour before instagibbing them.

That said, the Armour on husks  is quite low and it doesn't take too much firepower to blast it off.  On my last game with my femSentinel + AR + AP ammo, I used my fully upgraded Avenger to shoot up the armour then splatter the husk with Throw (I estimate I kill 4 husks per magazine of 40 rounds > ~10 per husk).   A fully upgraded Avenger AR does +50% dmg to armour over health, and Throw's cooldown is a lot faster than Warp's : it is a lot quicker to shoot off the armour then throw-gib compared to warping off the armour before shooting off the health.

If I had figured out that trick on my Vanguard, she would had a lot less trouble on Reaper IFF since she could have blasted off the armour on several husks then gib the whole lot with Shockwave.

some objectives are get from point a to point b, with enough shields or cloak, you can sprint through entire fights. not krogran approved, but it will work.

Husks: Shoot the legs.

Humanoids: Shoot the head.

Scions: Fight them up close, they have a dead-zone that you can dance in and out of where they'll do their AoE pulse but it won't hit you and they won't do their shockwave.

Heavy Mechs: Get a headshot as a killing blow and watch it go off like a mini nuke.

Armor on husks are a given.  Anybody who plays insanity could safely assume I would have stripped all defenses *before* using biotics on husks.

For the IFF Mission, pick Reave, and then bring Jack and Thane with you. I'm playing on Insanity right now, and the Husks are really no threat to me whatsoever. Shepard using Area Reave and Thane using Unstable Warp, and Jack with the Area Shockwave will just blow through Husks.

If you're playing as a class with Biotics, the decimation is even easier.
