There were also times when I saw things that just made me do a double take (like a squirrel running in front of me in Denerim).
The original complaint was that this game was too linear. Of course it was linear (though much less so than other Bioware games I have also loved such as kotor, Jade Empire, and Mass Effect) this is a story driven game (which is amazing) and Bioware made no secret of this.
If you want a non-linear game go play something like Oblivion (which is of course a great game), but if you want something with a great plot and wonderful characters Dragon Age is definitely the way to go. It's entirely possible that this will be consuming the vast majority of my gaming future...my gaming future until Mass Effect 2 comes out that is.

The creator of this thread could go try Sacred II. May be more up his alley. I prefer a gripping, story, great character acting, and FLAMING WHIRLWIND, BABY!

I dont know if it was the partnership with EA or what, but I am so disappointed in this game. BTW I hate EA games period .... but loved Bioware !!!!
I played about 12 hours into this game and I have to say its horrible... The only thing I would give 4 out of 5 stars would be the graphics..... But graphics dont make a game or a company ....
Did your development team even play this game .... Its more than linear its down right wrong wrong wrong ...
If this is what we can expect from you I am so dissappointed.. To think I was hoping you would be the ones to take the crown away from blizzard..
I will not be buying Star Wars The Old Republic!!!
Snnnffff... Hmmm, smells like trolling to me

My best advice would be to wait for Diablo 3 or try sacred 2: fallen angel if you haven't already.
There; can some mod close this useless thread now? The amount of them is getting annoying.

Dungeon Siege used as example, obvious troll is painfully obvious. Story was so awesome for DS that they made a movie about it, I mean come on guyz, its got the Transporter in it, SHEESH.
And BURT REYNOLDS as the King. BEST KING EVAR.

Too bad about his face...people need to learn to age gracefully in Hollywood. He looks like a bloody Sleestack with his face surgery.

Yes, blame EA because you didn't like the game. While you're at it go blame the president for your dog dying.

So Dungeon Siege and Diablo are ""indepth", while DA:O is "arcade style" and "linear".

Now i think your right those wow players are prob a lil ticked that wow can't be like this!
I also appreciate the fact that it is linear to some extent. I've never been a hardcore rpger, and have only played a handful up to this point (dragon Warrior, FFVII, Gabriel Knight so some extent was an rpg) So for a casual player who's very into story driven plots this game was nothing but a blessing.
Too many games, rpg, action or what have not, tend to shy away from the story they're trying to tell. i'm not saying all games need a story to be good. I am not saying that all. What i am saying, is if a story is being attempted to be told, don't do it half-assed.
This game up to the point i am is definitely telling the story VERY well. So i am hoping that the DLC starts flowing because when its all said and done and every possible ending has been explored, every character met, i am going to go through withdrawls. Hopefully by that time DA:2 will be out <

If you don't like the game, don't play it. Simple as that, there's no need to come crying to the forums because you didn't research the game well enough or rent it before you bought it.
