Hi,
Just finished the game last night and i am not happy with my ending. In the end Mordin dies and i don't understand why. I read some where the longer you wait to go through omega 4 relay after getting the IFF the more party members die. As soon as i did my mission and while i was waiting for the IFF to be ready all i did was Legion's Loyalty mission and then all the missions that follow after activating the IFF, so i don't understand why Mordin dies in the end.

I want to finish the game with all my party loyal and alive, can anyone help. How do i do that ? :o

Use Mordin on your Squad at the end or send him to escort the crew back to the shuttle. If you let him do anything else or be part of the group holding the door, he will die.

Thats bull crap the longer you wait to go through the omega 4 relay then you ship crew will die. Your party is decided do to your loyality quests and who you put in charge of the squads leaders and the tech. Use tali as tech, and Garrus or miranda as squad leaders Also for biotic use jack/samara/ or mornith. Perfect ending! holla!

It's easy to keep everyone alive (assuming you've done the loyalty quests) by picking the right people. However, Mordin is annoying as he tends to die anyway.

He is the very model of a DEAD scientist salarian[/gilbert&sullivan]

So yeah. Have him in your squad, or if you would rather have cooler squadmates, send him back with the Normandy. Then you're sweet. You can get lucky and have Mordin sometimes randomly live protecting the door but normally he'll die.

Tali OR Legion can be Tech. Garrus or Miranda OR Jacob can be alt team leader. More options :)

Ye Mordin is the token death guy

I finished the game twice and both time I left Mordin in the hold the line group and he lived both times. I sent Grunt with the crew back to the ship.

This is a many times over duplicate thread, but here goes:

Firstly, you MUST do all three ship armor/weapon upgrades. Each missed causes a lost squadmate.

Let's assume you did this. Waiting to go through the relay costs you crew lives, not squad lives. IF you go immediately, every crewmate lives. Waiting even one mission costs you some of your crew. Not your squad.

The deaths once you are on the Collector base are due nearly entirely to the choices of squad members you make during the various segments. The game is actually pretty nice about telling you who is best for each part - they volunteer. If they're not loyal, you risk death. For the tech expert, choose a loyal Legion or Tali, or another squad member dies. For the fire team leaders, you must choose a loyal Miranda, Jacob, or Garrus. For the biotic, the only ones strong enough to maintain the bubble and keep everybody alive are Jack and Samara.

Then you choose an escort. We'll get back to that.

Now for the final fight. While you fight, your squadmates are fighting. The have a number assigned to them for total defense. This is based on a number for each character not in your party. Some characters are obviously more defensive than others. Grunt, Garrus, and Zaeed are quite defensive, while Mordin, Thane, and Jack are not defensive. Every minute or so you're fighting the boss, a dice gets rolled. If you're unlucky, the weakest defensive character fighting dies. Your odds get better the higher this defensive score is. So, essentially, you want to have the least defensive people in your party, and the most defensive holding the door to up your odds. Loyalty also seems to increase the defensive score. So, its the time that you're *fighting* that matters, not the time waiting to go through Omega 4.

Mordin is by far the weakest defensive character. He is very likely to die if he is not in your party. However, there's an out if he's loyal. He's stealthy, which makes him a great choice to escort your crew out. This will keep him alive for sure.

You know what I said was so much easier... Use Mordin on your squard for final boss or send him to escort. It's like all those words but smaller... What am I thinking of here?

Cool thnx for all the advice i will try again as i have a saved file when i land on the base.

1 question the ship upgrade are they - Canons, Plating, Shield & medical equipment, then i have all of them.

I always used Garus as the second squad leader he is good & i sent Zaed back with the crew.

So i should send Mordin back with the crew, use garus as the second squad leader, samara as my biotic and Tali as the tech.

Does keeping the base or destroying matter ?
