While I totally agree romancing Chakwas would be awesome... and definitely Chakwas should get more dialogue. And Chakwas body doesn't look as 'old' as people seem to think she is besides having white hair. I think she looks quiet young and advancing our actual medical technological growth to 2185 means Chakwas' body is still that of a 25 year old... and would be that way regardless of actual chronological age.
However, the idea that 60 is the new twenty is as silly as saying 30 or 40 today is the new twenty. We are what we are; And, actual chronological age is largely irrelevant to maturity level. Of course there are general truths that apply to 99.9999% of people; individuals also tend to ignore steriotypes 99.9999% of the time.

And I'm not dissing Liara, just pointing out the more hypocritical reasons why most people don't want Chakwas to be a romance... Age.

A definite upgrade for the Normandy: blinds for the windows in the med bay.
Also, I've been doing some math on Chakwas age. Considering that the events of ME2 occurred in 2185, and assuming that Chakwas participated in the liberation of Shanxi (2157) as a military doctor, she'd be around 58 to 60 years old. By current Earth standards, it takes between 12 to 15 years to produce a medical specialist (more if it's a surgeon) and if Chakwas got into med school when she was 18, that puts her year of birth at roughly around 2127.

Honestly I think Dr. Chakwas is a cool character but not really a LI type character I've always seen her as the motherly character of Mass Effect. If anything I'd like to see her role expanded like Wynn from DA:O in that she's the older wiser person who Shepard can seek advice from, cause of her years of experince not a squad member or LI.

*That* is just amazing. Thanks, Mondo. Chak is hawt.
@Shadowrun1177 and FieryPhoenix7,
I certainly understand, and respect you guys' opinion, but for me, Chakwas being a LI wouldn't make her any less capable of using her years of experience to advise Shepard on important issues. If anything that would be one of the reasons why Shepard (my maleShep, at least) would fall for her big time. She's intelligent, wise, experienced, *and* has the looks. I guess there's only so much room in the game that not every NPC will get a shot at being decently fleshed out, and unfortunately Chakwas suffers a lot from that.
There's a lot of speculation as to why Chakwas joined Cerberus, what with her being a doctor and all, bound by ethic and moral principles that go against much of what an organization like Cerberus stands for. It's always been extremely hard for me to believe that she would just join because she misses space, or because she thinks that if she's not within a hundred yards of Joker he'll stop breathing all of a sudden. Besides, Joker did just *fine* without her for the two years Shepard wasn't around, in fact he did much *better* with Cerberus since they gave him stronger legs and a ship to pilot. So really, for me Chakwas has a secret crush on Shepard - besides believing that he's the only one that can stop the Reapers - and was somehow coherced to join Cerberus, "or else".
Anyway, I'm just speculating. I doubt Bioware will develop Chakwas a great deal in ME3. Guess there's always fan fiction. Go go Shepkwas!

After that I wanted to get real action with her and leave both of us in the infirmary.
Her theme tune is Sexual healing.
