I used to be a huge WoW addict, so I know full well what you're talking about. But then I went to uni and found that maintaining high grades is an excellent motivator. I think people get addicted to games when they have little to challenge them in their lives. Games provide instant gratification which is easy to get addicted to if you can't get it some other (hopefully more productive) way.
I now look forward to the day I can play DA again, but I don't feel bummed for not being able to play whenever I want to.

I love to play and don't work (Hubby and oldest daughter do). But still chores get done around the house as usual, clothes washed dried and folded, dishes done. Floor gets swept/vaccuumed though it could probably stand to be mopped today. Dinner cooked (though I will admit its been more often we grab something on the way home from picking up my oldest from work).
Play time is fun but there is life outside Ferelden when you are a full time mom
