I would like to add that it is very frustrating to not be able to play a game that you've paid full price for, plus additional monies for the premium content simply because the company's servers died. Guys this is like making computers that only use your printers and not someone else's. Other game companies out there are looking at your game here and figuring out why it's so popular and will soon be trying out your format...but they won't make the bonehead mistake of doing this move....this is known as pennywise and pound foolish. The money you make on protecting your download content you will more than lose on the bad will you create for your product....poor marketing, short sighted thinking....and simply stupid.

For what it's worth, the game is playable when the servers are offline. You just need to take some (annoying) preventative steps when the servers are up. The following discussion thread addresses this issue:

Ah, thanks for that. If I'd dug around a bit further I might have found the source myself.

As it was, I started the game earlier today and was immediately massacred by werewolves so I just gave up and took a nap.

Cheers!

When I try to set up an account to get on the dragon age servers it says I don't meet the minimum age requirement. I am 27. Has anyone else had this problem? After reading about the problems you all have had I don't know that I want to be on the servers.

I think it is unacceptable to do some workarounds, if you just want to play a single Player Game offline. Sorry, but this sucks.

I know it sucks, but it's a slight bug that can be fixed in a matter of minutes. I fixed mine in 10 min. tops and could'nt be happier that I can now play offline when I want.

A hassle? Sure, but not a deal breaker for me. I would humbly suggest you give it a try, it really is quick and easy to do. Well worth a few min. of work.

The Point is, why should I do the fixing of a Problem wich was caused by crappy programming? Am I a Beta Tester of some sort? Sorry, but I bought a Game and at least I want to play if I am connected to the net or not.
