Best class is the one you have the most fun playing.

On the whole, I'd say the class is kind of middle-of-the-road. It doesn't excel at any one thing, really, and it has no ammo skills, and the guns are mediocre. That said, it can hit Shields with Overload, Armor and Barrier with Warp, and anything undefended with either Cryo Blast or Throw. I believe AI Hacking is also on the menu. Generally, the way I played it, I got AP Ammo and used that and guns for killing, Throw and Cryo for control, and my inherent class powers for defense stripping. It worked well enough on Hardcore, though it went somewhat the slowest of all my playthroughs.

Defense is top-notch with Tech Armor, though. Very tough class. At the start, it plays somewhat like an Adept, since I took Energy Drain for my Adept, and leveled Warp and Overload first for Sentinel. They diverge once I started putting points into Pull and Sing for Adept, Tech Armor and AP Ammo for Sentinel.

Aye. I am almost certain I will be giving Sentinel another chance sooner or later. I've already beaten the game four times, two as an Infiltrator and two as an Engineer. I'm struggling with the decision for my fifth gameplay (which would probably be my rp character, more or less). I've tested an Adept thus far, but I am not sure I am fond of the biotics of this game. I know the class has great potential once the armor is stripped, but I find myself leaning towards the Engineer playstyle over Adept; prefering to strip the armor then use squad combos or my own combos to finish them off.

Another class of interest is the Vanguard, but that is still quite iffy. The charge seems fun and the playstyle is pretty fast pace, but it more or less focuses on Shepard and excluded the squad composition (from what I gathered.)

I may be bold enough to test out the Infiltrator again, mainly because I didn't use it to its full potential the first time playing, since I was adjusting to the game's strategic playstyle. That, or I may pick Engineer in hopes of perfecting the class and the strategies that come with it. As you can see, all the classes interest me, aside form the Soldier. I do find myself swaying towards tech specialty classes, however.

Vanguard, zippinga around the battlefield, one shoting mobs is just so much fun. another thing about vanguard is it increases the effetiveness of your team. When you zip to the rear of mobs, they all turn their attention toward you and exposing their back to your teamates.

Well, you should play the class that you like the best. Infiltrator's interesting if you like the Sniper thing. I did two playthroughs of Infiltrator. Cool class.

Don't know how Engineer plays. I might play that instead of finishing my Vanguard playthrough. It's nice enough, but a bit too swingy for my taste. I like my shooters and RPGs a little more cerebral and a little less improvisational.

Adept's all about the power combos. Use Warp and Energy Drain + guns to strip defenses. That's usually pretty elementary, though. Even on Insanity, one or two applications should suffice to strip defenses, and Area applications allow you to strip them mighty fast. Once the defenses are down, the fun starts.

Pull or Sing + Warp for the Warp Explosion

Pull + Throw for the single target insta-kill

Heavy Throw vs. Barriers, normal or Area Throw for placing enemies where you want them.

Pull for the single target control

Singularity for trapping and defense-independent control

Sing + Pull for multitarget control all over the area

Generally, you'll be throwing and exploding and lifting guys all over the place. It's quite bombastic.

I've finally tried out every class for at least 10 levels. The last class I tried, the Vanguard, is also my new favorite by far. The fights are a lot more intense (nothing quite like being at the tiniest sliver of health, using Heavy Charge to regen your barrier, and blowing that last mob's brain out) and the Eviscerator is godly. I also like how each power (not counting ammo powers) has a purpose; Charge's is obvious, Shockwave for clearing out weaker mobs, and Pull for CC, or most especially for combining with Miranda's or Thane's Warp. Combined with Heavy Warp Ammo, I can Charge and kill a Harbinger in a few shots, with melee attacks, of course.

It's the most fun I've had while playing this game, though you must be smart about where you Charge.
