i saw that Nimike had added his own icons to his mod so it is apparently possible but there is no info on the wiki on how to do it.

What kind of icons ? Those for spells, abilities, items etc ?
If so, you simply have to override the icon resource (either defined in the relevant 2DA, or item resource) with a new image file. And bundle that file with the rest of your addon when creation b2p packages.

It's icons for a couple of new skills. i'd need to know which 2DA is involved,where to place my own icons, how big the icons are allowed to be and how i convert the icons to the right format.

Skills icons are 42x42 but the game will indulge other sizes, in which case the images are simply resampled to 42x42 before being used. As for the format, I'm not clear about that. Myself I have the habit of using DDS (because it's the format of the original files, and I ain't imaginative
) but I believe PNG works as well.
