Fernando, thanks again for the updates. Little tidbits, such as not delaying Patch 1.02 for something held back for 1.03, is reassuring. Bioware has our back as we move forward. Great job, guys!

It's great to hear from the people at Bioware but, I must ask! I have played through and recieved just about every single trophy on this game on the PS3 and I wanted to know.

Does Bioware planning on a sequel for this game? DA:O was an amazing adventure and I loved the characters. I would love to see the possible adventures of the Grey Wardens anew against the Darkspawn and how the friends of before might reunite.

Even add some new potential romances or something of the sort. I was impressed by this game more so than any game I've ever played before. Bioware got me addicted-hook, line, and sinker!

Considering how sucessfull its been i would say yes they do. On the the otherhand its taken them how many years from never winter nights to make a new RPG like this?..Most likely we will see a slew of DLC and eventually ayear or a two later an expansion that acts like a prequel or epilogue that uses the same universe/setting to tell a story.

I would say we will end up seeing perhapse two to three expansions and then a three to four year wait for another new game..

just a guess though..

Well I hope to see a sequel I think it would be awesome and with the success of this one. I can only imagine what another for a series would do for this company.

We shall see though I suppose. ^^ Thanks for the response.

why have achievement issues at the top of the list for the consles when there is one BIG problem with Game-Breaking issues?!?!?!? Wouldn't logic state that you tackle the biggest/worst problem, first? After all, what good does fixing the achievement issues do when you lose your save files and/or encounter another game-breaker such as the Ogre (not spawning) problem in Redcliff after the Landsmeet questline? Both of these problems should take precident, or do you disagree and believe all our time is being wasted on this game, unless we get those damn achievement issues fixed first?
Also, where is all the "support" from BioWare/EA.. each tells us to contact the other or to post on these forums... hello? we're not the qa or developers!! All we've been looking for (for a month, now) is to have somebody (EA/BioWare, I don't give a flying rats-ass which one of you as both have pissed off so many of us) reply to us .. and acknowledge the BIG problems... instead all we heard about was.."oh, sorry Jonny..here we'll fix your meaningless (in the grand scales of these issues) problem. thanks and have a nice day"  Don't get me wrong, if the simple ones can be fixed easily, then, BAM.. fixed, thank you.  However, my point is that we, the consumers who purchased your product and have encountered the Major GAME-BREAKING issues, have had no "support" or acknowledgement from either BW or EA!!!!!

And.... YES, I do realize that it takes time to complete an update for a game filled with bugs of varying degrees, HOWEVER, it takes but a moment to to simply post an acknowledgement to a problem and openly state that you are aware of it and are/will be working to correct it....It's bad business to completely ignore customers having major problems with your products!

I'd like to see a DLC that adds a bit of "girth" to the late game. If you've been diligent with quests, as the game approaches the climax, the world starts to feel dead when there's never any new quests or random encounters as you run around (not even random darkspawn ambushes!)

I think adding some late game quests, random encounters and HARD bosses would be a quick and dirty way to add a lot of value to each replay, especially if no new locations or scripts need to be created.

It's just sort of suck to have your party fully decked out at lvl 22, finally the way you want them, then the game's over...

I think there should always be random encounters. Losing them at the end of the game is anticlimactic and doesn't seem to make much sense, particularly given the amount of time the Blight has had to gather.

I would love to see a online multiplayer dlc for this in the near future. nothing to extream jsut allow for other player created charetores to join my campain as other gray wardens and have like a new end game quest to viset other lands or time travel to the beginign and aid other gray wardens ie other players.Dragon Age has the buid and lore to make an awsome multi platform mmo for pc and 360 and even the ps3. with the deep player creater mode and the deep story progression and so on this game could be the WOW killer. i know Id play a mmo about dragona ge and I am sure more people would agree.

Thanks again for the suggestions.

This week we saw the release of patch 1.02 for PC, and from speaking with customer support as well as monitoring our forums it has been a relatively smooth launch - there are some edge cases here and there which we're already looking at, but for the most part it was a very successful patch. As always, if you do have any issues please make sure to post in the tech support forums.

Continuing on from my previous posts, we are still working on 1.03 for PC, as well as the first console patch (console update #1). These will largely address very separate issues and are being worked on in parallel.

I can't confirm yet what will end up as final fixes in each yet, but I did mention that we hope to address amongst other things the missing achievements from 360 for those folks.

Why this? Well, it was one of the first issues found so work began on it fairly early on. We also discovered some unrelated items in investigating around that issue that made us want to dig in a bit more on the 360 - so it wasn't a simple cosmetic/player gamerscore win, if successful this fix will actually have a longer term benefit for the main game as well and that's why it's fairly high on the priority.

Also, that was just one of the issues I used as an example - of course we're looking at the other high priority items console folks are reporting, using the process I mentioned before - we have a lot of folks lurking through our tech support forums + talking to EA support, they enter bugs on what they find, we triage these regularly, these get allocated to folks here for fixing, based on timing it gets slotted into an update, or moved to next available update slot. Likewise, fixes may fall out or be moved on purpose from one update to a later one during the testing phases for a variety of reasons.

What else is coming, you ask? Well, we are *really* close to having some more official news on Return to Ostagar - I wouldn't be surprised if we see something on this before next week is out. This delay hasn't been intentional, but we're waiting to get solid dates for console release in order to be able to communicate that back to you correctly.

In other parts - expect to see some very cool new items on your 360 next week! (sorry, no, it's not the title update yet, nor Return to Ostagar) As well as a new announcement early in week that will make some BioWare fans happy.

Have a great weekend everyone.

Your weekly updates are much appreciated, Fernando.

I really don't have much to report, my experience with the game has been great so far. I have some minor complaints regarding some sideplots, though. As in, some dialogs and quests that are available when they no longer should be (if you have defeated X, NPCs shouldn't offer you a quest that considers X to be alive and well).

I would also like the random encounters to be more frequent and variate, or unique if possible (I could swear my rogue encountered the same pack of wolves three times at least). If Bioware considered to include some more, I'd prefer bands of mercenaries or apostates than darkspawns or animals.

As for DLC, I'm not interested at the moment. Shale was a great character, but "its" second quest was not very thrilling imo. And from people's feedback about Warden's Keep, now I'm even more relucant to get it. Maybe if the Bio points were cheaper... I'm paying from Europe.

Fernando, is there any ETA on when the memory leak (or whatever the issue is that is killing PC loading times) will be fixed? I know you can't give an exact date, but perhaps what patch is it planned to be resolved in? Hopefully its a priority since after playing for a few hours even with a large amount of RAM loading times increase drastically.

Thanks! :)

That's your opinion.
Oh, and if you die within seconds on normal I would consider playing on easy. What's wrong with how you control "the people"?
You can use the WASD-keys like in most other games out there.

Thank you, Fernando! Keep doing those weekly updates. :)

Woooo.....I can't wait to see what it is. I don't care if it's just something as simple as a new weapon or two or just accessories like belts and amulets.....I'm a sucker for the small things as much as I look forward to DLC and maybe even an expansion pack.....some day.

Oh and please don't forget the mages......there's been sweet heavy armors and stuff for warriors but the Mages are badly hurting in clothing.....unless they become arcane warriors.....still they shouldn't have to borrow all that warrior stuff to be able to get decent clothing I think.

Thank you for the updates.

I would suggest having a admin-only thread where you post your weekly updates, so everyone doesn't have to go through this long unwieldy thread.

Keep up the good work!

Re-reading Fernando's last post, I see he mentioned an announcement that Bio fans will like. I hope it's about one of the secret projects (new IP). Image IPB

Yeah - I dream of getting (my <3) Leliana armor like the red/black leather armor with the sword of mercy (I think that's what it is) from the Sacred Ashes trailer - and a lighter-tinted version of the Heavy Soldier/Corruption/etc. Helmet to match up with some of the nicer late-game armors ;)

I'm guessing that I won't be satisfied this time around, but I can wait... ^_^

At some point, I'd also like to see Warden's Keep revisited. I think that the location had a powerful backstory and tons of potential the first DLC didn't quite fully realise.

Too early to tell. The toolset is mostly broken even for PC gamers and it's too early to expect some actually remarkable or noteworthy mod to actually be finished. Then most mods tend to create problems when mixed with patches and DLC and so on. I wouldn't mind if we never get any mod at all but if we do I hope they give us the .0000000000000000000001% that don't break the game.

What do you mean "use" the sves? You certainly won't use them though they might implement the feature they put into ME2 where the game reads the choices you made in the first and adjusts the game accordingly. They haven't said anything and since the game engines between ME and DAO are completely 100% different my guess is that no this will not happen. They may simply ask you at the beginning of the game what your choices were the way KotOR II asked about KotOR 1.

Aye, to be honest my hope is that your old character plays a somewhat more minor role, purely because if they were to build stories or "origins" to continue what happens after the epilogue, they'd be creating 50 hours of epilogue-continuing material alone.

I guess it also depends how far in the future the sequel takes place; easiest way to go would be for the MC to be dead by then
