How can you free Jowan from redcliffe? Is there a sequence of dialog you must go through. I saved both the Arls son and wife.

I want Jowan to be freed, but even after i asked the Arl is decides against it and turns him over to the circle, i saved before doing this of course.

Option A: Circle gets him

Option B: Hes executed.

There is no option C afaik but i cld be wrong.

I was under the impression that you can somehow convince the Arl to set him free, then he goes and helps the runaway mages.

Oh sorry, i would have to go back quite a few game hours to free him in the dungeon.

Instead of ''You're to follow me'', or ''I don't care what you do'' while releasing him from the undead infested dungeon.

It seems stupid that the persuade options are there but impossible to actually win. Probabaly left over from when he was supposed to be recruitable.

Tell me about it.... on my first playthru I was pretty sure that he was the one to teach blood magic... spend like half a day redoing that leg wondering what went wrong. Gave up and completed without unlocking bloodmage. After that playthru, I looked up solutions and felt pretty dumb.

Yeah, on the Dragon Age nexus called "Karma's Companions" I haven't tried it out though.
