There's a problem here.I play this game on pc and it really impressed me.
1.But I found out that in the middle of the fight I had to pull out from a cover to move to another cover. That really exposes Shepard to the gun fire.
2.And some times when you r holding button w and you don't know wheater the system had read it or not.
So I think ME should learn from gow.
Problem 1 would be solved by improving.
P2 would be solved by showing icon.
Hope they would change this in me3.Adding Thermal clips  is a big progress.Keep up the good work!!!Posted ImagePosted ImagePosted Image

Basically he is saying that the Gears of War cover system made more sense for various reasons

I think #1 is intended. In fact I think it makes it a faster paced game. Enemies flanking you? GTFO to new cover.

For the first one, Gears of War incorporated a mechanic to dive between separations in cover. He is saying that sometimes there is no good way to get to new cover without being shot to pieces and a cover-to-cover mechanic like Gears of War has would be a nice improvement.

Like a tumble / roll from one cover to another?

There must be some subtle difference I'm missing. In GoW did you crouch more when storming from cover to cover?

There is context sensitive movement from cover to cover. For example, if you're at the edge of a low barricade and there is another low barricade across from you with a gap between, then when you're giving movement input in the direction of that gap you get an on-screen cue to let you know you can hit the cover button again ("A" button, same as ME on the 360 anyway) and you'll dive across the gap and into cover on the other side.

There are other movements similar to that too, based on what cover you're in and what's around you. There is the "roadie run" also that gives you a low profile when you need to sprint to a new position, but that one probably wouldn't apply to ME since you can move around outside of cover quicker in ME.

Yes, the sprint in GoW was a roadie run where you were crouched. You could also shift from cover to cover quickly (like within half a second). You could stand or crouch if you were behind cover high enough, you could blindfire, and you could also use fallen enemies as cover in GoW 2.

As a GoW2 Veteran myself, I love the concept. It's one of the reasons why I keep playing the game, because it's different from the other shooters. Utilizing teh cover system is sheer skill and when mastered, you can just sling shot yourself to the enemy and take them out, Vanguard style [ shottie. ]

I disliked the perks in CoD series, as some players could nail others when they didn't had any counter meassures.

I think Bioware should take inspiration from Naughty dog/Uncharted 2,but that's not being realistic.

Bioware doesn't have the technical wizz skill to pull off those awesome setpiece and awesome third person shooting mechanics of UC 2 (would make for an awesome combat system in Mass effect 3). :P
