Hi all, I just started playing this game and it is my first game like this as well, so i have a few questions from you pros out there :)  Please don't slam me, I really did try to research how to do some of these things lol...

1.  It says, or people say in the cheats to *throw out* your used clips?  What in the world does that mean and how do you get rid of overheated clips?  I simply walk over new clips on the ground..

2. Also, how do you change the ammo on each of your squad when in battle?  I have only seen how to change their guns in the weapon lockers or hitting escape and selecting squad...

3. Each clip you see on the ground and walk over and collect...Are they ammo for all your guns or just one, a random choice?  If so, do you need to change guns and walk over them?  Stupid question, but tired of trying to do this all the time...

4.  When you finish the game (i did one on normal) mode, are you able to continue with this same character into veteran, then hardcore?  Is there a point in doing so, or do you just start over again at level1.  Do you get more exp points, credits, etc by doing this?  I heard on the first ME1 that people would get to like level 50, then continue and raise their levels to level 59 or 60, so checking to see if ME2 works the same before... The load game seems a bit confusing to me and I don't want to import my main character and screw it up :)

5. In the ending, I have always let Legion die and my assistant burns and dies.  I have read that you NEED to make sure once you get your last person on the team, you can only do that last mission before the suicide rescue one or they will die? Is this true?  Also, does it matter how fast you get to the 8th valve or do you just need to make sure it does not go to red?

Thanks and sorry if these are really basic (well numbers 1-3)

1. no idea

2. pressing left shift will open the power wheel and let's you use ammo types and powers for other squad members

3. they will go to the gun your holding first and will then be distributed to your other guns

4. you can use the same shepard for a new playthrough, just select new game and then select import ME 2 character.

What they mean, yarsabia, is to reload. Suppose you have a pistol with a six-shot magazine and have fired three shots. Push "R." You'll reload to a full six shots.

This is important because you can't fully restock your ammo with a partially empty clip. Suppose you can carry 24 rounds for your pistol. If you have a full six in the clip then you have 18 rounds outside it. You walk over a live heat sink and you get nothing for it, because you're full.

Now suppose you only have three rounds in the gun and are carrying 18. You walk over a clip on the ground and get fully reloaded, right? WRONG. Your don't get anything. You have to fully reload, then you can get more ammo. That seems small but it really adds up quickly.

More later.

1. Dont follow.

2. Ammo types are a skill. Not every character has them. However you can evolve a your/squadmates ammo power to give it to the whole squad.

3. It gives you ammo for every weapon that is not at max ammo.

4. If you go to New Game on the main menu you can import your ME2 character. Max level is 30. It wont erase or mess up your already complete character just starts a seperate one.

5. The Reaper IFF is basically the point of no return in ME2 have all loyalty and sidequests done before you do that mission. Once its done go immediately and activate Legion and do his loyalty quest. Once your crew gets abducted go rescue them no other side missions or people from your crew will die. The timing on the valves doesnt matter.

Thermorium has number 2 covered, so let's proceed. It should be mentioned, however, that other squad members might not have all the ammo options you have. Take note that some squad members, including Shepard, can give an ammo option to all members if they are in the team and have an ammo ability that's upgraded enough.

Thx for the fast replies everyone. I think now I understand how to finish off the ending with no one dying hehe.

ok, a couple more questions based on the answers..

1. Do people restart the next difficulty with the same character then? What does this actually do for you? Like, does it give you more credits to buy the items you never got in the first game? I am not sure what most people do here once finished on say normal mode?

2. As for the clips... Are you basically saying you need to fire off everything first before you go and collect more clips? I am still a tad confused, not sure why tho because it seems you explained it really well, but I still don't understand, so the problem is with me lol... Sorry for asking again...

Thx again all, and thx as well for not slamming me on basics :)

1. after completing the game, all other characters will get a 25% exp boost and will receive money and recources. You're playing with the same commander shepard as your first playthrough when using new game plus, only the paragon/renegade scores will be reset.

2. when you don't have a full clip of ammo, just press R to reload if you want to reload earlier than shepard would normally do (when he is out of ammo on the clip). By reloading frequently you can keep the pressure on the enemy. As for the ammo, when your current clip is not completely spent, it won't be reset by picking up ammo.

You don't lose rounds when you reload. For instance, if you still have three rounds in the clip, you don't leave those. You just get fully reloaded.

Reload frequently, particularly before you go pick up more ammo off the ground. That's all you need to know.

ok, got it on the reloading hehe. Thanks so much all :)

So, is there then a reason for replaying the game on a harder mode?
