I'm running an m15 Alienware - you can see system specs in my comments on profile. Three days ago I installed DivX player and it changed some file associations which caused some instability with ME2. I unistalled DivX. That did not work.
I ran system restore to well before that point. That did not work. Since my initial instability it has gotten worse - at first the graphics drivers would fail and recover during gameplay - now I cannot get past the Press Any Key page.
I have played the game sucessfully for 2 playthroughs at 30 hours with no issue and now I cannot run the game.
Help me BioWare Forums, you're my only hope.

I think somebody has posted this issue before. I personally had this problem once and deleted the whole "Mass effect 2" folder in my documents folder just to fix it.
Restarted the game form the beginning and had no other problem since.
I hope someone could tell me how to permanently prevent this problem and what caused it though.

I think its a bigger software issue than ME2, I can run DA:O or any other games, short of doing a complete respawn I don't know what would fix this - especially since System Restore did not fix the issue.
