I found deleting these does not make all the NPCs appear in the camp again but it does allow you to change them as you see fit. Any you choose appear in the camp but the rest do not. The merchant also reappears when i deleted these as do the emissary from various quests.
\\Documents\\BioWare\\Dragon Age\\packages\\core\\override
And
My Documents/Bioware/Dragon Age/Modules\\Singleplayer

Could it just be bad luck, or? Dont notice anything else of weirdness really.

When you export, it adds the Folder "\\toolsetexport\\" into both the "\\BioWare\\Dragon Age\\modules\\singleplayer\\override\\" and "Dragon age\\packages\\core\\override\\" Folders
I also believe it changes the "singeplayer.cif" in the "\\singleplayer\\" folder, well it must because right now that is the ONLY thing in there (After I deleted toolsetexport folder) and once I renamed the singleplayer folder, everything works fine.
TLDR: Delete; "\\toolsetexport" in both "\\singeplayer\\override" and "\\core\\overide and Singleplayer.cif in "\\singleplayer"

Can anyone confirm this?
I just downloaded the toolset and I really want to take a peek. I made a backup copy of both the game install folder and the bioware folder in documents. IF the toolset breaks the game, returning those folder structures should bring it back without hassle right?
Peace

I have looked at this one but now after reading this thread I'm not sure I want proceed.
With the TEScs only a mod can make changes to the game and if you dont load the mod the changes don't happen.
I'm guessing this CS is completely different and not as easy to master.

I have a quick question, I have downloaded the toolset and read in this thread that if you install the toolset with another OS user (Vista), it won't mess up the singe player campaign on the other user.
Can anyone confirm this?

Well that's true because the stuff it exports goes into your My Documents folder, so it should be different for different users. However you won't be able to test any of the stuff you create unless you manually copy the folders across.
But if you just want to mess around with stuff, it should be fine.
Oh and there's no need to backup the folders in that way, you just need to delete the contents of two folders in the my documents Dragon Age folder, listed in this thread or the wiki article (packages/core/override/toolsetexport and modules/single player).

I then installed Dragon Age and now I cannot load any of my many many save games nor can I select New Game. Can I never play Dragon Age again on this computer? (minus wiping my harddrive...) I'm pretty annoyed
P.S. I'm not entirely against deleting my saves even though i have nearly 50 hours of gameplay and it would be upsetting..

Pardon me for venting, but as soon as I open the Toolset one time, and don't mess with anything but my own little test module, all of my Dragon Age saves are destroyed. That's more than 60 hours of gameplay that, for how linear it is, I really don't want to experience again with a new character, nor do I have the time.
If there's anyone from Bioware reading this, it's your job to fix this glaring fallacy, before hordes of raging nerds rise out of their vibro-chairs and assault you with hot pockets at high velocity.

It works so far with original game without patch and (only) upgrade from toolset (without sql in the upgrade). That's frustrating...

Like i said, with the old toolset-download it works with sql, but not with 1.01. And the same in the maingame i have probs with patch 1.02. (oh i have the german version, but that should make no difference...)
Edit: i have vista 32...

So instead of changing the 0s to 1s, I changed the 1s to 0s for the characters with me- and voila!
Thanks so much, dude! I'm so happy to get the problem fixed!
