Look at the original instructions; in the binary number that you're supposed to alter, normally you change the 0's in the number to 1's specifically for them companions whom you want to fix. For me, the numbers were already 1's, so I switched them back to 0's, and that fixed the problem.



Except now I can't talk to my Marabi hound without the game going very weird. The game re-runs through the conversation where he first joined me and then totally trips out. (As in, solid black landscape with floating islands, weird.) Everything else seems to work fine, though.

 After a little bit of fiddling, I figured out that the game just dragged me back to the location where I first met the marabi hound- and it did so in a directly 2D movement. So the blackness and chunky floating mountains looked the way they did because my character was standing below the landscape. :P

I just had to run around a bit (alternately sinking below and floating above the map, as my character was moving in a single plane) until I got back onto the map I was originally on when I tried talking to the hound. Then my character's feet synched with the right 'dimension' and things started working just fine! It took a little tricksy maneuvering- seeing as my character had to run up a ramp that her feet wouldn't touch to get around a wall (I had a good laugh at myself over that)- but once I got back on the map, everything was back to normal.



Sometimes running around in circles really does fix the problem! :D

Ok so complete uninstall of everything to do with the game - the settings, characters/saves and logs ( i backed those up seperately but i actually removed everything else from the game when it says "want to delete saved games, extra content etc" still no fix its just as broken as it was when it first got borked help! i just want the game back i dont even care about char saves anymore

It should be fixed in 1.01, though old resources left over from 1.00 (including savegames) may still be broken.



If you've removed all of the exported resources, and are not using old savegames with possibly corrupt GUIDs, I'm not sure how the old install of the toolset could be causing problems with a fresh install of the game. All of the methods by which the toolset might influence the game seem like they should be removed at that point.



The specific "poison" files that the old toolset would have emitted would end in a .plo extension, perhaps do a search of your computer to see if any were missed by your cleanup?

ok so i deleted Everything, uninstalled the game re-installed it and now when i go to new game it says unable to load module, i just want my game back help!

ok well its fixed now, I manually deleted every folder connected with dragon age and it made me use the uninstaller for both the character creator and toolset, i dont think ill try getting my old chars back just incase it screws up the game again its not worth the risk. but o well at least i have my game back.

Reading the first few pages of this thread made alarms go off in my head to not fiddle around with the toolset just yet. Have the "phantom" errors been resolved with 1.01? AKA performing a simple task not within the single player module but still breaking your campaign? Is it "safe" to use the toolset (provided I don't do something stupid like heavily alter the campaign itself directly?

I'm a noob to modding... but here is my issue...

Earlier  had the DAO 1.01 and   the DA Toolset 1.00 working just fine I was able to mod some items and place on my characters inventory. Recently I tried to update to 1.02 version of the game and it caused a lot of problems with some of my existing overides and mods. Worse is that it caused my toolset some problems like: it won't let me create new modules. I figured thatmaybe if I updated the version it would solve the problem (stupid me). I uninstalled the Toolset 1.00 to my mistake the new version required you to keep you database or some thing to keep your mods from the previous one. I installed the 1.01 version of the DA Toolset  with a clean slate hoping that it would still let create new modules, but still the same problem. It says unable to save module.  I uninstalled and cleaned all registry values and reinstalled at the previous versions that I'm using both the DAO 1.00 and the DA Toolset 1.00 and it still has the problem.... I wanted to know if anyone knows hoe to fix this problem... I wanna learn more about modding and this hinders that from happening. :crying::crying::crying:

Using the GUID updates mentioned in the SQL-command before, I've gone through the savegame to look for the plot GUIDs. I wonder if these are the same for any given savegame, but for your information I found these under SAVEGAME_PARTYLIST\\\\\\\\SAVEGAME_PLOT_MANAGER\\\\\\\\SAVEGAME_PLOT_LIST under the listed entries. Replacing the GUIDs and fixing the gen00pt_party as explained earlier in this thread (I entered the value 8732723 in plot flag 1 to get Alistair, Morrigan, the dog and Leliana in my party) solved a lot of issues for me. Fingers crossed if this caught most of the corrupted GUIDs.

from experience (im not sure if anyone else has posted this so sorry in advance if they have) i have found that the absolute easiest way to sort out the problem is to go to "My Documents\\BioWare\\Dragon Age\\AddIns" and delete everything except for DEMO. then when you go in-game and load any save that had the content it will say this save requires content ...... and you can select force load, there will be a warning but if you click force load again it will load up and hey presto, problem solved.



also from experience i have found this problem only happens at certain points in the game and not the whole way through so if you want you should be able to load up those mods again by opening the toolset up ;). so far ive only done this twice, both times successfully.



there is really no need to uninstall/reinstall the game.



note: this is for the people with the problem of the game freezing during some cutscene's where they have toolset mods loaded

so if I downloaded head morphs off the nexus site. would it be safer or not to do it that way. I currently reinstalling dragon age right now if I had know about this earlier it would have saved me a whole night

After more than 50 hours of gameplay, all my saves are corrupted... I want to edit a savegame but I cannot download the GetPartyFlagIndex.zip utility: the link seems to be dead. Please, someone send the utility to lainierman@yahoo.com

The problem with the toolset was fixed long ago in release 1.01.

If you've corrupted your game in some other way, for future reference it would be more helpful to post a new topic.
