Kind of funny really, since the FAQ was released there's been a collective "YELP" from the community.  As I posted elsewhere, I'm still hopeful for a great gaming experience, but with reservations.  There certainly seemed to be a lot of assumptions on the part of us fans as to what an expansion would entail with some of those expectations being crushed -namely the dead warden issue, no dlc, and no romances or any combination of those three.

I'm kind of curious what the general reaction back at Bioware has been to the forum backlash of past few days, not that we're likely to get the personal reaction of each employee, but it would be interesting to know what a general interpretation of the community's complaints have been.

I get that Bioware perhaps want to do some other things with this expansion.  The no romances seems to be the easiest thing to let slide -at least for me, others obviously disagree- from a design perspective.  Maybe they simply didn't feel like writing them for the exp, or have something entirely different in mind; we'll have to wait and see.  The no DLC loot carryover seems to be the most legit complaint given that an actual price-tag was attatched to much of it and DAO is required to play DAA.  The dead-warden issue just seems an all around silly design choice.  They obviously spent time incorporating non US character choices into the game world, it seems unlikely to me that incorporating US choices would have been any more difficult, perhaps even less so without having to worry about as much specific dialogue to an Orleasian GW.  (My own thoughts, I realize software development can often take nasty turns not immediateley visible, so if this is the case then I get it, believe me I do.)  But to just "hand-waive" the story element here really does -as someone else pointed out- seem very un-Bioware.

Anyways, again to the folks at Bioware, I loved DAO and am hopeful for a fun and immersive story-telling experience with Awakening, but as I posted in the FAQ thread my excitement has definatley been tempered.
