no romances means we get a new brothel with different workers right?

of course these outrage are always ignored by the devs and the company, because in the long run sheeple will buy and companies still make their $$$, it worked for EA all these years (even after their complete mishandling of the C&C franchise), it worked for Valve with L4D2....there no reason to believe it won't work for Bioware.

I will vote with my wallet, and I hope you guys will too if the things that you are currently upset about are kept in the expansion

Chris P. is a community manager. His job is to provide the powers that be with our concerns etc. And then to wait for the answer. Sometimes this might take weeks or even months. Then they can tell us what the powers that be has decided...

If you don't like that you can't use dlc items in Awakening, you have the option of not buying the game.

What can they say that will quiet the griping? Seriously - their best bet is to stay silent and keep to the official releases. Anything they say is likely to be twisted/mocked/and used against them at one point or another. *shrug*

I am not pleased with the information I have heard about this expansion, but I can fully say that silence does not mean lack of care or attention. It's simply smart.

This board is so incredibly depressing with such endless negativity I think they probably avoid it just to keep from feeling suicidal.  I know I do.

Really? Wow, that is an astouding insight. How did you ever arrive at such a brilliant conclusion? I mean, here I was thinking that I would be forced to buy the expansion whether I wanted to or not, and you come along with this amazing piece of information. Are you some kind of seer or something? Surely you must possess some kind of superhuman intelligence. Thank you, great one, for the wisdom you have bestowed upon us. We are unworthy of your awe-inspiring sagacity. What other wonderous revelations do you have for us?

Well, they'll have to face a lot of unhappy customers after Awakening is released.
They must be working on something now.

Yes I know I am outraged an expansion to a great game is being made by people with a proven track record going back ten years.  The very thought of it fills me with fury and I froth, yes, FROTH at the mouth with an uncontrolled desire to knock heads together!

Let me tell you something pal, the moment this expansion is released there will be a BLOODY day of reconing and Bioware will pay for their crimes.

I thought Bioware was doing the reconning here (or retroconning, whatever that term is)...or are you planning to help them along? :P

Just to chime in quickly, one reason for a little silence is because Fernando and Ferret just returned from a press event. So, there will be loads of Awakening news coming in the next few days.

Hey victor any chance we could do a Q&A about awakening? Like so we can ask why dlc items don't transfer?

Call me stupid.

I really don't see what all the fuss is about. If your character performed the Ultimate Sacrifice, they would be dead. You would have to use one of your other saves to import or use the Orlesian Warden. BioWare thought, let's give them the choice of using their previously dead character if they want to. Outrage ensues. *shrugs*

Like I said, call me stupid.

I'm kind of curious what the general reaction back at Bioware has been to the forum backlash of past few days, not that we're likely to get the personal reaction of each employee, but it would be interesting to know what a general interpretation of the community's complaints have been.

What reaction could they have? The people complaining haven't seen anything outside of the teasers the company is providing. The only people who would face an ounce of reaction based on the "forum backlash" would be the communications department.

That reaction will be (at the most) in the form of an email to the communications department:

Dear communications department: please tell fans more about what they "can" do in the expansion instead of what they "cannot."

Sir that statment is about as popular as saying to someon " Yeah I went out and joined the **** party today, I really like the work they do".

Only kdding I suppose EA is allowed to have fans as well.

I only care about the DLC issue.

So if I don't get an answer about it, then you can kiss any potential DLC money of mine away, cause I won't ever buy any anymore.

They say sarcasm is the lowest form of wit, but as dismissive smackdown, that was impressive.

While obviously, not obliged to respond to fans in any way, shape or form, I believe that a significant portion of people, would at the very least appreciate an explanation as to why DLC gear will need to be trashed for Awakening. You do not believe that it invalidates their purpose in their first place, also considering that a certain recent DAO DLC pack, was specifically advertised with certain...weapons and armor in mind ?
