You Weeaboos reported me and I was told to stop so now you think it's alright to do the same? Soi soi soi soi soi.
I'm allowed to disagree with you without being harassed or called names. Every time you say "weeaboo" I'm going to link you to a mod. If you can quit it, I can leave you alone. It's that simple.
Lol wow you get worked up over the internet. Thats funny, mahbe you should go outside and stop worshipping the red sun and watching anime and your JRPG's.
Thats right! I totally forgot! My mistake

There are people on the other side of the screen. You're not less of a jerk just because it's text on a screen instead of words from your mouth.Garuda One wrote...

And if I have to stop worshiping the red sun and watching anime then you have to stop worshiping Shepard and imagining what Tali's face looks like while faping.
For all your mud slinging and derision you are just as pathetic as those you ridicule. You just do it in a different dark corner with a different group of gamers.

Now connect it with with what I do with you and all the rest of your Japanese Crazed Fans. But hey at least I openly admit it and I will that I masturbate a lot to Tali's hips and hope that she's love interest in ME3. Omg Tali oooohhhH YEAHHHHHH. What? Were you expecting me to lash out and deny your petty come backs LOL your funny silly wanna-be asian man.
MMMM yeah, check dem hips out son.

"The only key area where FF XIII betrays fans - and this is heartbreaking for me to admit - is the story. The narrative makes a number of small missteps, but they all tie back to one larger issue: the characters. The game is largely driven by the personalities of the six main party members - their goals, mindsets, and personal revelations. Unfortunately, these revelations feel extremely rushed and artificial, forced by the necessity of moving the plot forward. These moments range from insipid to obvious, like 'I was fighting because I was too scared to face my fate,' or 'I didn't tell anyone this piece of critical information because I thought they wouldn't like me." Periodic updates on the characters' vacillating attitudes are poor substitutes for a clear long-term goal and a compelling protagonist. Even the Final Fantasy series' B-squad bosses, like Zeromus and Necron, make more sense than your ultimate adversary in FF XIII."
Tough to enjoy an RPG with an (apparently) sub-par story. Personally speaking, I'm also tired of the borderline androgynous Final Fantasy character designs, too.

Hey, Square, where's my next-gen console version of Parasite Eve?
I am amazed that he compared BioWare to Bethesda, I'm guessing he's never played a game from either company. Bethesda is all about the dropping you in the big open world thing, BioWare is story and character-driven. Both have their merits.

JRPG is the one genre that needs to die. Oh, look, another game with a teenage, emo hero/heroin who has to save the world; horrible character, story, and game-play design. The music isn't bad, I'll give them that.
In Mass Effect (and in any other WRPG for that matter) I feel like I'm actually playing a role and making decisions.
You might say it is unfair to contrast Japan, one country, against the rest of the world, but they once ruled the gaming "world" and have lost it completely – pathetic.
US Game developers>Japanese Game developers
Canadian Game Developers> Japanese Game developers
British Game developers> Japanese Game developers
etc...
I can already hear the crying from the JRPG fanboys who are saying that the genre needs to get special treatment. Nope. If you can't handle making games in the 21st century: GTFO.

I still like Pokemon, but to me it's more like a game of Sudoku than an actual videogame.Cluck Norris wrote...
The only people who still play crappy and generic JRPGs are otakus and Japanophiles. It was cool when you were younger, but grow up, please! No one is buying Final Fantasy for the actual game - they are buying it for the nostalgia/brand-name factor.

This is a lot of drag to read.
Sure, JRPG's are kinda stale and have been unevolving for a while (at least in the major sense) but I hardly call the Western RPG of going Mass Effect much more of an evolution than changing genres.
I mean, the big problem with both JRPG's and WRPG's is that they are both loosing focus on what makes an RPG an RPG, rather than just an adventure click-and-choose game.
Mass Effect is a really bad shooter with some dialog boxes attached to it and statistical output of character. That makes it about as much of an RPG as X-COM was an RPG.
Final Fantasy 13 was a thrilling story that you had to watch and your basic input was about the equivalent of putting data into a calculator and get a colorful presentation when you got it right.
There's nothing wrong with that, any of it, but you'd think they'd spend some effort actually progressing the genre in a way that they completely stopped caring about, for JRPG's, back in 1995 and for WRPG's, back in 1999.
Chrono Trigger and Fallout 2 are the benchmarks I'm aiming at here. For a lot of people, these two names ring very true and are regarded as some of the best games ever made for LOTS of people, depending on who you ask, it'll be in a different spot.
For some reason, these two games were so stellar that all game developers at the same time just decided "****, we can't beat this" and just have never tried anymore.
Oh, not for lack of trying. Final Fantasy VII shot itself in the foot with some of the dumbest plot devices put in place to make the most spoiled, obnoxious generation of video gamers feel an iota of grief.
And because they decided at the same time that it was the height of human drama. Ugh. Just read Shakespeare, seriously.
EDIT: Why did I even bother. Guys, can you put down the underage pretend alcohol, look at the screen straight for two seconds and pretend we're civilized people having an actual chat or is this basically going to boil down to "LOL, dick, cheese, biscuits, fart"?

People like different kinds of games for different reasons. Different does not equal bad. If it does, you're all losers for playing and talking about video games. Bunch of geeks.
Also, Ray Miyazuka (or however you spell his name) said all the same things about ME2, with the pre-defined character and lack of options etc etc.
